This is immensely powerful! Instead of allowing hate and bias to continue to divide our nation, especially pertaining to this, we need to find a way to "accurately" teach our children about this countries history. Instead of trying to erase it by banning books, altering grade school history books, censoring the curriculums, and firing teachers for speaking out against it, confront your biases and fears head on. For if you try to erase history, you make it more susceptible to repeat itself. Hate is running rampant as it is generationally taught. Do something about it! Teach the kiddos and let THEM determine on THEIR own how THEY feel about this countries history. THEN, maybe the tides will turn.

While history is what happened, it is also, just as important, how we think about what happened and what we unearth and choose to remember about what happened. ~Nikole Hannah-Jones

I didn't have a dad around growing up so it's important for me to be intentional with how I raise my sons. A few years ago, I got thinking about how a lot of men are in the same boat. We want to be great dads. We want to be leaders who help shape the lives and character of our children. We want to build a legacy that will stand the test of time. That's why I created Fathers Raising Sons. Fathers Raising Sons has a mission to equip 100,000 men to build great relationships with their sons. The goal is to do this by helping men build their son's character by sharing the wisdom they've both experienced and found in their own lives. Through this program, dads are able to find the tools, resources, and support they need to be the best leaders and mentors for their sons they can be. Memberships include age-based conversations to have with your kids and weekly discussion topic videos that guide you to build deeper connections. Being a dad isn't always easy. But if we're intentional about how we invest in our sons today, we'll give them the gift of leadership they'll need for tomorrow. #churchillmortgage #fathersraisingsons #parenting #christianleadership #leadershipmatters

Remembering Stephen Lawrence: A Day of Reflection and Hope Today, on Stephen Lawrence Day, we honour the life and legacy of a young man whose tragic death sparked a pivotal moment in race relations. Stephen Lawrence was a black teenager who lost his life 31 years ago in a racially motivated attack. His story serves as a stark reminder that we must continue to address racism and promote equality in our society. Why Stephen Lawrence Day Matters Remembering Lives Lost: Stephen’s death is not just about him; it’s about all the lives lost due to prejudice and violence. Let’s remember them, even if we don’t always know their names Inspiration from Tragedy: Despite the injustice of his death, Stephen left an indelible impact on British society (and me on a personal level). His legacy inspires us to live our best lives and create opportunities for others Hope and Joy: Stephen’s legacy reminds us to find hope and joy even in tough times. Let’s celebrate our young people and their futures. Teach me, Correct me... ? Well, within limits, can't go 'off the ranch" Come & whisper in my ear, give us dirty laundry... My Dad may be the last surviving of original engineers that got KET up and running, fighting cancer 6yrs likely from Gyphosate exposures spraying it on the tower guy wires, to save money & other EMF field exposures in the UHF 600mhz band: was he part of the 50th Anniversary celebration ? Nope, & the cannibalistic media is all too 🤔 eager to eat their own as all the business models are collapsed by the phone mafia/syndicates, & were my warnings heeded along with others from the 1990s? Hardly, you might check out #23-5337 in the 6th Circ Ct of Appeals for part of "my" side which: WKYT, defunct Morehead Snews and ASHland's Daily Flemdependent & others did not dare get: 11pages with references, if it is said not to be filed, there's copiessss. Enjoy the recognition from the 4th Estate that's more of a 5th column ... while it lasts.
Significance over success. It takes a while to realize that’s what your heart truly desires. I’m thankful for open doors and closed ones, and for people who invested their time to lift me, teach me, correct me and love me. Tonight is an important night. As a first-generation college student the Hill (colloquial reference to Western KY Univ) was literal and figurative. But the with the unwavering support of my parents who worked so hard for my brighter future, God’s amazing grace and favor, the best community of college friends, professors, co-workers and mentors, I made it. It’s been a big year for me with honors and recognitions. I was reminded from a dear friend who gave me a birthday card the other week, that between now and this time next year, more amazing things will happen. I just have to believe. Another friend texted me a prophetic word about receiving what I’m silent about. You can make fun if you want, but I believe those are angels sending a message to me that at 51 my life is just getting started. What God started, He will finish. I’m pressing on! For those of you who think it’s too late for you… let me speak resurrected dreams into your spirit. It’s not too late. Believe. Hope. Trust. This is more than I usually share, more personal than I usually reveal. Don’t worry, I won’t make a habit out of it. 🙂 Tonight, surrounded by a community of long-time friends, I’ll proudly be inducted into WKU’s Hall of Distinguished Alumni. To God Be The Glory for all He has done for me! I’m already a puddle of tears reading this piece done about me below. If I get through tonight without my mascara running down my face, it’ll be a miracle. I know hearing what Dana Divine, Sherry Murphy and Bob Babbage said in the tribute video will turn on the waterworks for sure. I’m told there will be tissues at the table. 🙂 https://lnkd.in/gUrURw6Q
