Very humbled to be featured on one of the world’s leading customer experience podcasts "The Intuitive Customer" by Colin Shaw and Ryan Hamilton Colin and Ryan feature a video clip I produced within their podcast where I explained what CX and business leaders need to learn from elite sports coaches when it comes to managing customer experience across large organisations. They build on the clip and provide some really interesting cometary and insights. Some of the key takeaways: 1) Football coaches and CEO’s have a similar challenge. Both trying to get the best out of people to beat competitors and become number 1. Either, number 1 football team or number 1 brand in their category. The team/company who gets people working together to the best effect, is typically winning. 2) Great coaches and business leaders are great communicators If their people can’t understand their vision, system of working together and how to action it, then it’s not going to work. 3) In good teams/companies people are clear on their role The clearer each individual is on their role in making the vision happen and clear responsibilities, the more effective they can be. 4) Coaches design game systems to define how players work together optimally When we compare that focus of coaches in elite sport on getting the team working together, it becomes really clear that most organisations are really lacking in this area. 5) The winning system that progressive companies are working to is a – customer centric system Many companies are still held back by a product centric operating model, working in silos competing against each other. A customer centric operating model/system, is a commitment to put the customer first, structuring the organisation around your core customer segments or goals and then operating accordingly. No more competing in silos, instead, working together on shared customer goals to deliver the best customer experiences possible more efficiently and collaboratively. Most leading brands are deploying this kind of strategy. Have a listen and let me know what you think, the link to the episode is in the first comment below. Make sure you check out The Intuitive Customer podcast, there’s over 330 episodes jam packed with amazing insights that Colin and Ryan share and over 80,000 subscribers. Thanks so much Colin and Ryan.
