How is confidence being built in nature investment markets? 🌱 For any CLA member who is considering a nature-based project for carbon sequestration, habitat creation, flood management or a mix on their land, it is important that nature markets are robust and reliable. In her latest blog, Chief Land Use Policy Adviser Susan Twining explains how the CLA is working on behalf of members to ensure their interests are represented as nature markets are established and maintained. Supporting landowners to rewild | Practical advice through Rewilding Network | Ecologist |Views are my own
"There is a perception that the economy and nature are separate and that we choose one or the other. This is completely false, because the economy is a wholly- owned subsidiary of nature, not the other way around. “The more we degrade the natural system, the more in the end, we will degrade the human economic system, because of that fundamental dependency.” The UK is at particular risk of nature depletion with a recent study finding one in six species in the country are threatened with extinction" It's time to align nature with finance - we face a huge finance gap to achieve nature recovery. Financing landscape scale #rewilding and restoration is the biggest challenge facing rrwilding projects right now. https://lnkd.in/etraD9As

I don’t post often – ok, hardly ever – but I wanted to share this article from the New York Times about our work at Intrinsic Exchange Group. https://lnkd.in/eX_zKFGS Natural Asset Companies are not the easiest concept to explain simply but the NYT article did a very good job of doing just that. We were all surprised by the opposition to a free-market approach to conservation and sustainability finance. The silver lining to recent events has been the outpouring of support for our work. Rest assured; we will continue our efforts to bring NACs to the private and public markets. Farmers, ranchers, landowners all deserve access to NACs. And everyone should have the ability to invest in the most important asset we have: nature. If you want to learn more about what we are doing and the projects mentioned in the article, please reach out. #greencredit an ambitious plan to increase #tree cover in #degraded lands by 2030 As trees are the only source to reduce carbons from atmosphere which is a major cause of #climatechange, this initiative of GOI is praise worthy🙏. With increase of population pressure the tree cover is fast reducing in many states and by creating an ecosystem which #rewards for #doinggood to society is a welcome move. But as a normal process of implementation, now we need to see how well it passes to masses and how well the bureaucratic system implements the entire thoughts. What we don't want at the end, is it is concentrated in the hand of a few. Any thoughts from anyone? Thanks #TOI for this article #esg #greencredit #carboncredit #tree #plantation

IEG is trying to tackle a market failure. Current market incentives allow (advocates, really) exploitation of natural resources that do not account for the negative externalities like habitat destruction, pollution, dwindling finite resources, etc. It's a different way of thinking about properly accounting for ALL the true costs of doing business, and bringing Mother Nature to the bargaining table when assessing the viability of a new or existing market opportunity. Read on and look at the IEG website for more details. Best of luck, Douglas and IEG!

Last week AXA IM Alts' Global Head of Natural Capital & Impact Alexandre Martin-Min spent several days in Australia visiting AXA's largest forestry asset and talking to Institutional investors. Without doubt the highlight of the week was being taken on a tour of the Green Triangle Forest Products Limited estate by the outstanding management team based in Mt. Gambier. One of the largest in the region, the estate includes more than 22,000 hectares of production and sustainably managed land. Around 70% of the mixed-age portfolio of Radiata Pine forests is manufactured into high-value structural timber on harvest - a low carbon alternative for Australia's construction and property sectors. As a firm, we believe that the sustainable management of forest ecosystems is central to achieving the objectives of the Paris Agreement - so it was great to both see it in action and share this conviction with other Institutional investors in the course of the week. 🌱Invest in Lands for a Profitable Tomorrow! 🌿 Looking to secure your financial future? Consider investing in lands! Here's why: 1️⃣ Tangible Asset: Land is a tangible asset that has historically proven its value over time. Unlike other investment options, it provides you with something you can physically own and utilize. 2️⃣ Limited Supply: Land is a finite resource, and its supply cannot be increased. As the population grows, the demand for land rises, making it a valuable commodity with the potential for significant appreciation. 3️⃣Diverse Investment: Investing in lands allows you to diversify your portfolio. It can act as a hedge against market volatility, reducing risk and providing stability to your overall investment strategy. 4️⃣ Multiple Income Streams: Owning land opens up various opportunities for generating income. You can lease it for agricultural purposes, rent it for commercial or residential development, or even explore renewable energy options like solar farms or wind turbines. 5️⃣ Long-Term Appreciation: Over time, land tends to appreciate in value. As urbanization expands and infrastructure projects develop, surrounding areas become more desirable, leading to increased land prices. Investing today means reaping the rewards in the future. 6️⃣ Environmental Conservation: Investing in lands also contributes to environmental conservation efforts. By acquiring and preserving undeveloped land, you actively protect ecosystems, wildlife habitats, and biodiversity for future generations. 💼 Secure your financial future, diversify your portfolio, and contribute to a sustainable tomorrow by investing in lands today! 🌍💰 📞 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥: 042-35312200 🌐 𝐖𝐞𝐛𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞: https://www.sigalgroup.pk #Sigalgroup #RealEstateInvestmentPakistan #InvestinRealEstatePK #InvestingInLands #FinancialFuture #DiversifyYourPortfolio #SustainableInvestments #SecureYourTomorrow #everyoneactive
