It's about creating spaces where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered to be their authentic selves. This celebration was initiated in 2004 to recognize and honor the diversity of the world around us and encourage us to understand our differences while honoring the common essence of humanity. By appreciating our similarities and differences, the month aims to inspire a deeper understanding of others, regardless of who they are, what they are, or how they live. It’s also an opportunity for organizations to think about creative ways to increase diversity in the workplace. Look out for some tips this month on how you can celebrate diversity all year round! 

“Diversity is being invited to the party; inclusion is being asked to dance.” — The Vernā Myers Company (TVMC) DEI initiatives are about more than just numbers; they are about creating a truly inclusive and welcoming environment where every individual feels valued, heard, and empowered to participate fully. Diversity represents the beautiful collection of identities and perspectives that make our communities vibrant. It's about ensuring that everyone is invited to the party and that our spaces reflect the world we live in. But it cannot stop there. Inclusion takes it a step further by actively engaging and embracing all voices. The 17th of May marks the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Lesbophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBLIT). It is a day to raise awareness about discrimination, violence, and challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community across the globe. As I reflect on my personal journey, I am filled with gratitude for having the opportunity to be part of organizations that foster a safe and inclusive environment for our community. Particularly at #Reckitt, from day one, I found a place where I could be authentically myself. A place where #Allies are always ready to stand up when needed, and where leadership is genuinely committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive culture. Today, this post is not just an act of #Pride, but also a reminder that we should never take these achievements for granted. There is still much work to be done in our society. Let’s continue to strive for equality and acceptance for all.
