Those of you who have followed my work know that I’ve become known for supporting and telling the stories of women 35+ through Slackline Productions. However, my Goldsmiths, University of London grad film has taken me in a different direction — one which I’m honoured and thrilled to share. Every 40 seconds, someone dies by suicide. Men account for nearly 80% of these deaths. This is something we can’t afford to be quiet about.   Living on the Edge is a tragicomedy short film in the making. It takes place over one eventful night in the UK, when a chance meeting between two men at a suicide hotspot turns second thoughts into second chances. Currently in pre-production, we’re launching a Kickstarter campaign on Tuesday, 9th April to raise vital funds to help make this film happen. Probably the most productive 59 seconds of my life so far, 🌟 generating €7.4 per second 🌟 Woola organised a charity run for Ukraine 🇺🇦 where Estonian startups managed to collect insane 56k EUR to purchase Medical Evacuation vehicles to the front lines.The only thing that was needed from me: run 400 metres at max pace. I delivered and finished with a personal best of 59 seconds. 💡 Dividing the whole sum collected (€56 000) by the number of participants (128) and then by the amount of seconds it took me (59 sec), I generated around €7.4 per second. (In comparison, Cristiano Ronaldo currently earns €5.93 per second). 🏆 Congrats to fellow top-form athletes whose race times I am aware of: Rauno (56 sec, the fastest of the day), Villem (60 sec), Tanel (61 sec), Ranno (63 sec). 📣 Btw, we are only missing €4K from purchasing the third Medical Evacuation vehicle. Ever thought about how to support people to live better lives in our changing world? I use to think Circular Economics was a complex and hard to implement concept, turns out, it isn’t. It just means we have to shift our thinking about time and consumerism: For example… From - Making or mending something. Order online or dash to the shops for the tools to do the job. Use it, find somewhere to store it, and then maybe use it again. Asking -Do I need it right now, and will I use it on a regular basis? To - Plan ahead and borrow something to complete your project. Take it back for someone else to use. Unintend outcomes - become part of a community, meet some fantastic people all on the same journey improving our plant, one small step at a time. Possiblities are limitless. Added extra bonus - removing physical clutter in our homes, helps to remove the mental clutter that can affect our wellbeing. This is the long way around me saying, Geoff and Urban Hax are brilliant - see the post below. What if you didn’t buy a coffee today (using a reusable cup of course), or you bought something with a yellow sticker on for tonight’s dinner. Think about spending what you saved to suport a new tool library. 🫶 They really are the future - if we want a future, that is 🌏

We didn't want her to say merely, "I’m visually impaired, and I need a guide dog." It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that the animation industry has been absolutely decimated over the last couple of years. It seems like the only way to get anything produced is to self-fund, and that’s exactly what Avid Liongoren and the team at Rocketsheep Studio are doing. Would you like to see an animated film about a queer superhero? SAME. If you’d like to help make this film a reality, check out the trailer and contribute to their Kickstarter. They’re based in the Philippines so we’re not talking millions of dollars, or even hundreds of thousands of dollars, to get this made. They only need $40,000 to turn this into reality. I know investing in a Kickstarter can be a little risky, but if this project is funded, Rocketsheep Studio will *absolutely* complete this film. They’re not a fly-by-night operation – they’ve already self-funded two films, including one that got picked up by Netflix. What is life after war…? How hard is the transition from military to civilian life? As someone who is going through the post-PTSD diagnosis, post-discharge process right now, I can categorically say it is exceedingly challenging! But I am by far alone. Three-quarters of veterans find the transition to civilian life challenging when they leave the Forces, some 11,250 each year. The absolute legend that is Levison Wood (explorer, filmmaker, author, veteran) is using art (in the medium of film) to bring awareness to veterans' challenges. Lev is hoping to draw attention from beyond the usual audiences and shine a light on what veterans’ experiences can be. As a former ballet dancer and veteran myself, I wholly support projects that link the arts with post-service life. Lev’s film, The Burn is a fictionalised short film that explores the reality of readjusting to ‘normal’ life after conflict, it follows The Burn follows the journey of a couple as they seek to overcome challenges to their relationship by going to a music festival but are beset by misfortune. The protagonist, a veteran from the war in Afghanistan, suffers from the memories of his past. This is his personal mission of forgiveness. Perhaps music is the answer?
