It is estimated that 33 million people in the United States have food allergies. A food allergy is an immune response to the proteins in food that are usually harmless to most people. The result of the immune response is an allergic reaction, ranging from mild reactions, such as hives, or itchy skin, to more severe responses such as anaphylaxis. If you have persistent mouth symptoms that won't go away, consider exploring food allergies, sensitivities, or irritants. Certain foods can cause swelling in your lips, mouth, tongue, or throat if you're allergic to them. In milder cases, pollen allergies may lead to reactions to raw fruits and veggies (known as pollen food allergy syndrome). Delayed food sensitivity could cause mouth sores, burning sensation, bleeding gums, or a rash around your mouth. Certain food reactions can also harm enamel and contribute to tooth decay. Some reactions are simply irritating or toxic to mouth tissues. With proper testing and treatment, identify problematic foods, eliminate them from your diet, and restore mouth health and oral-immune system. Considering one in ten adults experience food allergies, don't overlook the potential role of food reactions in oral diseases. Thanks to our sponsor Diagnostic Solutions Laboratory, LLC who offers an accurate IgG food sensitivity test and IgE food allergy test to help pinpoint the foods and inhalants that are causing your problems.

Over the past few months, I've touched on food allergy misconceptions quite a few times, but as we enter the new year I feel as if it may be time for a refresher. While there's certainly been a push for more literacy surrounding the topic, there are still too many instances of bullying amongst our children and misunderstanding that circulate amongst adults. The more we discuss the truth about food allergies, the more we can erase these situations and more. Douglas H. Jones highlights the 11 major myths that haunt this industry. However, I would challenge categorizing #5, "Small amounts of allergenic foods are safe," as a myth. While it's true that "for individuals with severe allergies, even trace amounts of allergenic foods can trigger life-threatening reactions," it's also true that for the majority of people living with mild or moderate allergies, trace amounts of allergenic foods WON'T trigger such a reaction. Understanding the severity of your allergy, and your threshold is essential for living a life from a place of freedom, not fear. #FoodAllergies #AllergyDiagnostics #VC #Healthcare #Misinformation

With more than 30 million people (adults and children) in the U.S. living with food allergies, it's become increasingly obvious that the condition is more complex than people initially believe. The talk of a cure has been passed around for years, but “Food allergies is a disease where you don’t have one solution or an easy solution because there are so many different parts to it. A perfect storm has to come together for somebody to have a symptomatic food allergy.” However, this may be changing. New research shows how the antibody, IgA, functions in the gut—and how it may help prevent rogue allergic reactions to foods that shouldn't harm us. #FoodAllergies #AllergyDiagnostic #Research

Food allergies are a serious and potentially life-threatening condition affecting millions of individuals worldwide. These allergic reactions occur when the body's immune system mistakenly identifies certain foods as harmful, triggering a range of symptoms that can vary from mild to severe. At Rapid Care, we are committed to providing the information and care needed to manage food allergies effectively and safely. Food allergy symptoms can appear within minutes to hours after consuming the allergenic food and may include hives, itching, swelling of the lips, face, or throat, digestive problems, and in severe cases, anaphylaxis—a life-threatening reaction that requires immediate medical attention. Common food allergens include peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, fish, milk, eggs, wheat, and soy. It’s crucial to recognize the signs of an allergic reaction and know how to respond, especially if you or a loved one has a known food allergy. Managing food allergies involves strict avoidance of allergenic foods, reading food labels carefully, and being vigilant about cross-contamination risks. For individuals with severe allergies, carrying an epinephrine auto-injector (EpiPen) at all times is essential for emergency treatment in case of accidental exposure. Educating family members, friends, and caregivers about the allergy and how to use an epinephrine injector can also be lifesaving. At Rapid Care, we offer support and resources for managing food allergies. Our healthcare professionals can provide allergy testing, develop personalized management plans, and offer guidance on recognizing and responding to allergic reactions. If you suspect a food allergy or need help managing one, don't hesitate to visit Rapid Care. We are here to ensure you have the knowledge and tools needed to live safely and confidently with food allergies. #FoodAllergy #RapidCare #AllergyManagement #StaySafe

Retail brand trying to target the consumer with tree nut-allergies? Maybe you're offering a keto product using almond flour (like the majority of your competitors) and don't know what a comparable, allergen free alternative is. We've got the answers for you! Reach out to us today to hear more! "While an allergy to tree nuts is not the same as an allergy to peanuts, there is some overlap—as many as 40% of peanut-allergic individuals also have an allergy to tree nuts. The prevalence of tree nut allergies appear to be increasing, now affecting about 0.4-0.5% of the U.S. population. Tree nuts include almonds, cashews, walnuts and pine nuts among others. An allergy to tree nuts can be just as dangerous as an allergy to peanuts, also carrying a significant risk of anaphylaxis. Fewer than 10% of individuals with a tree nut allergy outgrow it, according to ACAAI." #AllergenFree #Keto #KetoFriendly #NutFree #KetoDiet #KetoIngredients #GlutenFree #GlutenFreeSnacks #GlutenFree https://lnkd.in/eVnv_hgg
