Now that the second semester of my Sophomore year is over at Endicott College, I would love to reflect on another project that emerged! As seen previously, I created Five Nights at Gully's for my Visual Programming I class and made another game alongside that for a game development class. I decided to take things up a notch and tackle something new and challenging for myself. Discovering that it was possible to create and use 3D Graphics in LibGDX, I took it upon myself to make a game using 3D Graphics to give myself a deeper understanding of working in three-dimensional space. This proved challenging since unlike your usual game engine, almost everything had to be made from scratch. Project Redhood is a game where you play as Redhood (Grown up Red Riding Hood) who seeks justice for other fairy tale characters, in the game you would encounter villains of other fairy tales. This project serves as a prototype and only includes some levels, as well as a mini-boss fight. Given the amount of time to simultaneously balance learning 3D and delivering a full-fledged project, while being a student-athlete and attending many other classes, I wasn't expecting a full game, but instead something to show my learning experience. I won't go over everything in this post as that would make it extremely long, but I touched up in Blender, Bullet API Physics, Syncing Terrain's Geometric Nodes to the Physics World, Character Controllers & Physics, Animation in Blender (NLA Tracks), Linear Algebraic Concepts with Vectors, Matrixes, and Quaternions. Finally, as I was working in LibGDX, GDX-GLTF, and Mundus, I had some exposure to working in large codebases, reading and understanding what each code block means, and applying it to my own game, and sometimes creating my own frameworks that connect the logic in both codebases. (i.e connecting Bullet Physics with Mundus GameObject). This as a whole strengthened my software engineering skills. I love creating games that bring joy to the people who play or watch them. I'm excited to share summer projects here soon and I hope that everyone enjoys the showcase of Project Redhood attached in the link below! https://lnkd.in/eBm33cix Timestamps: 0:00 Outdoor Level 1:52 Cave Level 3:48 Boss Fight

On a mission to pave the way for girls in European with further opportunities in #STEAM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math). I am always in awe in how many great examples all ready happening out there that we can share and co-create further. #stem #entrepreneurship #innovation
Co-creating for #STEAM best practice activities today in labs with STEAMbrace and sister Horizon EU projects #STEAMIT #STEAMer. The future looks brighter to include and open the field for all girls/women and children. With the use of #Miroboard co-creation is visually easy. #stem #steambrace

education innovator | cross-sector collaborator | holistic learning designer | startup junkie | aspiring optimist
"Bridging the education to employment gap" is an audacious vision that requires buy-in and behavior change from both industry and educators. It needs storytelling, examples, and testimonials to make this work real. That's what we're bringing to SXSWedu *and* SXSW regular: At SXedu, we collab with game changers CAPS Network, One Stone Inc. and The Reinvention Lab at Teach For America for "How youth add value to professional work and workplaces." No platitudes here-- we'll include real student voices, project assets and industry partner feedback. This goes beyond "doing real world work"-- it means delivering enough value on the partner side to get them coming back. Sustainability. Speaking of which, with our anchor partners Belkin, we submitted a bid for a workshop at *SXregular*: "Bridging the Ed to Employment Gap: Schools + Companies FTW." This is about improving the model with professionals across sector-- going to the source for ideas, critique, and collab. Thanks to the inimitable Milo Dodson, Ph.D. (he/him/his) and Mike Yates for facilitating these sessions and Corey Mohn Chad Carlson -- and students TBD-- for joining. Please upvote both sessions (reposts welcome) to support our work!
