This May, Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland announced a $60 million funding package into the Bureau of Reclamation ’s Rio Grande Project funded by the Inflation Reduction Act. The funding, which will benefit multiple stakeholders, including Elephant Butte Irrigation District (EBID), represents the biggest investment into the Rio Grande Project since the 1916 construction of Elephant Butte Dam.
