Join us for insight into planned election coverage and a possible change of government. We will explore how newsrooms are coping with AI-generated and distributed mis and disinformation, and how they plan to address news avoidance. Of course, anyone visiting a newsroom wants to know where and how they are using or planning to use AI. Join us on this two city tour. New Hampshire voters have been receiving a robocall featuring an AI-generated voice of President Biden discouraging democracts from voting in tomorrow’s election. This is the first instance I’m aware of where AI is being used at this scale in the US (without declaring the contents are Ai) for the purpose of deceiving voters and influencing the upcoming election. 👉🏽please be very critical about the information you come across -👉🏽check sources. See what newsrooms and journalists are sharing. Visit campaign pages. We won’t be stuck in this AI disinformation chaos for ever. But it’s going to require some big structural changes to our information ecosystems. Full article: https://lnkd.in/gsTGCFxV

How is AI not a threat? AI's assistance doesn't replace humans but empowers them to make better decisions. The synergy between human judgment and AI data analysis can lead to improved outcomes. AI is best viewed as a collaborator rather than a competitor. It has the potential to complement human skills and make our jobs easier and more efficient. Many tasks that are repetitive, mundane, or data-intensive can be automated through AI, allowing humans to focus on more creative, strategic, and complex aspects of their work. As AI technology advances, it also creates new job opportunities. AI requires humans to design, develop, implement, and maintain it. Jobs in AI research, development, and data analysis are on the rise. AI creates new opportunities in industries that rely on it, such as data science, machine learning engineering, and AI ethics. AI can augment human abilities, making employees more productive. Doctors can use AI to analyze medical images more quickly and accurately, while customer service agents can use chatbots to provide faster responses to common queries. AI empowers workers to achieve more in less time. In the legal sector, AI-powered software can sift through vast volumes of legal documents to identify relevant information for cases, significantly reducing the time spent on research. Lawyers can then focus their expertise on interpreting the data, arguing cases, and providing personalized legal advice. AI can assist in decision-making by providing valuable insights from vast amounts of data. In business, AI-driven analytics help companies make data-informed decisions, from market analysis to customer behavior prediction. In healthcare, AI assists in diagnosing and recommending treatments, leveraging a wealth of medical data. AI's assistance doesn't replace humans but empowers them to make better decisions. In finance, AI algorithms analyze market trends, enabling traders and investors to make more informed decisions. The synergy between human judgment and AI data analysis can lead to improved outcomes in various sectors. Artificial Intelligence is not the threat to jobs that it is often portrayed to be. Instead, it should be embraced as a transformative tool that can make our work more efficient, creative, and meaningful. AI can become a valuable partner in our professional lives, allowing us to focus on what we do best while it handles the rest. As technology continues to evolve, it's essential for individuals to adapt and upskill to thrive in the age of AI, rather than fear it. By doing so, we can harness the power of AI to improve our work lives and contribute to a future where humans and machines work together for the betterment of society and the global workforce.
