On Alphabet and Why I Think It Is Undervalued Inspired by Adam Seessel's book "Where the Money Is," I conducted a deeper analysis of Alphabet, particularly focusing on its CEO, Sundar Pichai. Below is what I wrote to a correspondent, explaining why I believe Google is undervalued, even more so than what market analysts predict: "Currently, I am also considering buying Alphabet (Google), which I believe lags behind other "similar" advertising platforms. I think Sundar Pichai, with a much better business perspective, will significantly increase Alphabet's Return on Capital in the upcoming years. Consequently, I view Alphabet as a kind of turnaround. Over the past 2/3 years, he has made substantial progress, elevating Alphabet's ROE from the low to mid-teens to the low to mid-twenties. Therefore, I believe that Google, with Pichai and his partner in "crime," Ruth Porat, is an additional strong driver for significant earnings growth, on top of the generally expected market growth. I do not currently see this improvement reflected in the price. Hence, I consider Alphabet a compelling value play at the moment." It is right under our nose; as the famous soccer player Johan Cruijff said, 'you will see it once you grasp it.' #investing, #investingstrategy, #valueinvesting , #seessel, #alphabet https://lnkd.in/e8Z9rRgv

ALPHABET PONDERS HOW TO SPEND ITS $118 BILLION CASH PILE Big companies have big problems. While most entrepreneurs are trying to attract investment to start or scale a business, major companies are busy wondering where to put their money. Thus, Alphabet, one of the world’s largest companies by market capitalization, which owns Google, is "facing a new and, by most accounts, welcome problem — how to spend its rapidly expanding pile of cash,” Bloomberg writes. #Google Efficient market hypothesis is extremely important for an investor's concern. Also, the economics of a business will determine its position concerning profit in the long run. Theoretical perspectives are important when it comes exceptional needs, but what's extremely important to fulfil business needs comes from technical perspectives. Cash flow, growth, customer segments, sales channels, geographical locations, market potential and competition, revenue stream incomes and much more are talked about when it comes to a company's business design and structure. Let's move forward shall we. In the year 1998, Google now known as alphabet was founded by two Stanford University Graduates. Names:Larry Page and Sergey Brin. The first check they received from a investor was $100,000. Both of them didn't have a business bank account then and it took a bit long for the funds to be deposited.😎 A $100,000 investment later turned to a business that went public in the year 2004. Share price in 2004:$85 per share. The IPO valuation gave Google now known as Alphabet a sum of $23 billion. Shares of the company went up by 18% on the IPO day. And as they say, the rest in history. Today, Google now known as Alphabet makes $591,767 per minute. A company that started with a check worth $100, 000 in 1998.😎 When it comes to creating a business, there are many things that are extremely important concerning the innovative ideas of a business. But I'll name three: Collaboration. Curiousity. Creativity. The three Cs are what Larry and Sergey have to turn a business that was funded with $100, 000 to a business now worth over $1 trillion. To open up a business is very easy for any average joe, but to run a successful business ain't a walk in the park.👍 More info about Google now known as Alphabet can be found via this link:https://lnkd.in/eGU2EViv For in-depth investment research and investor relations contact johnson.afilaka@fininforadar.com If you are looking for institutional conditions, Black well Global is a reputable brokerage firm. Business owners and CEO’s, How should we think about cost savings? A. Cost saving is about saving costs, B. Cost saving is about ranking benefits. Spend more on the highest expected benefits by spending less on the lowest actual benefits. C. Another option? As a CFO helping companies increase profits, I say B. Ruth Porat, former CFO of Alphabet, Google and Morgan Stanley agrees and says it best: “How do we stack rank and look at opportunities to free up capital to then be in part contributing to growth?”. Understanding RISK ⚠️ is important more than valuations 🙈 Why? If you valued Google at 1 Million or 100 Million or 338.95 Billion in 2010 or 513.02 Billion in 2016, you still had made a good investment decision of buying it, as today it’s valued at 1.72 trillion (🙈). #valuations #uncertainties #lifelonglearner #google

Alphabet's Q2 profit exceeded Wall Street expectations; Ruth Porat will assume a new role Alphabet's second-quarter profit exceeded Wall Street expectations on Tuesday and the Google parent announced that its long-time CFO, Ruth Porat, would assume a new role while the company sought a new finance chief, according to Reuters. https://bit.ly/3YayLW0 Alphabet's results were helped by steady demand for its cloud services and a rebound in advertising. The shares jumped 8% in after-hours trading. Shares of rival Microsoft were down slightly after it also reported results on Tuesday, while shares of Meta Platforms, a company also highly dependent on ad sales, rose as much as 2%. "Not only did Google deliver fantastic earnings per share, exceeding expectations at a time when investors were questioning its ability to keep up with other tech giants amid the AI frenzy, it also did so by a considerable margin," said Thomas Monteiro, senior analyst at Investing.com. "This strongly indicates that a new growth phase for the giant is likely under way." He added, "Google has finally consolidated itself as a leading force in the highly-disputed cloud sector and now has room to focus its expansion in the AI field." Porat, hired in 2015, is one of Silicon Valley's most prominent female executives and oversaw tremendous growth at Alphabet. She will become chief investment officer and president starting Sept. 1. Porat was hired from Morgan Stanley, where she was finance chief. In her new role, she will oversee the company’s so-called Other Bets portfolio, the unit for more risky hardware and services ventures, as well as help manage the company’s global investments. Advertisers, who make up a big share of Alphabet's revenue, have pulled back on spending precious dollars on untested platforms, helping the Google parent as well as Facebook owner Meta Platforms. Silicon Valley has been buzzing over generative artificial intelligence software that can give long-winded responses to user queries and is predicted to be the next leap forward for Big Tech. Alphabet rolled out AI products at its annual I/O developer conference in May and it revamped its search engine to include generative AI. Still, the results released on Tuesday show that ad sales are still king. Ad sales for Google's YouTube video service unit rose 4.4% to $7.67 billion. Investors punished social media company Snap on Tuesday for its disappointing ad sales in the quarter. Microsoft's Azure revenue rose 26%, ahead of the growth estimate from Visible Alpha.
