The #digitalization of Bosch Mobility is progressing at full speed as we strengthen our current and future business through a comprehensive IT and process #transformation, and Wroclaw, Poland is a frontrunner for Bosch Mobility. 🚀 One year after the successful migration to #S4HANA in Wroclaw, Poland, I had the chance to experience what our first pilot site has achieved. The most significant changes have taken place locally in warehouse management, production, shipping and packaging. Verifying the #performance and integrity of the reshaped processes has become an essential part of daily operations in Wroclaw. Our team on-site has done an impressive job in implementing and adapting to this transformation, gained valuable insights for other sites to come and is motivated to keep going. 👏 Their contributions are essential to our progress and help us in our ongoing industrialized rollouts. We are currently preparing for the next pilot at our Budweis plant in Czech Republic, with an expanded focus on optimizing end-to-end processes across multiple IT solutions in commercial and shopfloor operations. I am looking forward to more success stories on our #transformation journey! 🌟

🌟What a great experience at the first Bosch Mobility AI Day 2024 last Friday, with 250 colleagues on site in Renningen and 2.000+ colleagues who joined virtually from all over the world!🌍 A day filled with insightful presentations about #AI solutions applied in various fields across different functional areas, in internal business processes, as well as in our products. In addition to lighthouse presentations on stage, live demonstrations and virtual presentations of exemplary AI initiatives and solutions by our regions; marketplaces offered a great opportunity to dive deeper into the technology and to directly engage with AI experts.🤝 It was wonderful to see the passion of our AI enthusiasts coming together from various business functions and locations around the globe. The event was a great opportunity to connect with each other and showed me that Bosch Mobility has already embarked on the AI journey with numerous AI activities, use cases and platforms in place. AutoChina - a must to be there. Impressive to see how quickly Chinese Manufacturers developed into major players within the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) market. Intense Executive meetings and lots of learnings on chinese speed, innovation and mindset in a highly competitive environment.
#AutoChina2024 has just drawn to a close, and it showed us once again that speed is a key driver of success in the Chinese market! Seeing this directly in Beijing was very impressive and the dialogue with our customers and partners was very valuable. The pace at which OEMs in the region are innovating is setting the standard – and Bosch Mobility has a strong local team, ready to step into action when our customers come to us with a request. I was able to see two examples of speed for myself on site in #China: Our new 48V second generation battery production line at the Bosch site in Wuxi shows that we are on the right path when it comes to battery localization and in a strong position to meet local market needs. It took just 4 months from the start of the project to the production of the first batteries - an absolute benchmark! By #collaborating with engineering, purchasing and special machinery functions on site and with Germany, our local operations team is empowered to respond quickly and flexibly when challenges arise unexpectedly, and can thus make a significant contribution to ensuring a smooth ramp-up and just-in-time manufacturing. In Suzhou, we have built another production facility within a year. Here, too, the team has done an outstanding job and shown what China Speed is all about. Our Wuxi and Suzhou team’s collaborative spirit is an impressive example of the mindset we need to master Bosch Mobility’s transformation and shape a new era of mobility. Together!

A new 48V second generation battery production line at our Bosch site in Wuxi shows the benefits of localization: With operations, engineering, purchasing and special machinery functions at the same location, the local team is able to collaborate face to face every day, and thus react quickly to possible deviations in production. At the same time, our colleagues in China have done an excellent job of implementing multiple problem solving and continuous improvement mechanisms prior to the ramp-up phase, in addition to working closely with the lead plant and lead engineering team to ensure smooth ramp-up. The Wuxi team’s hard work is a great example of the spirit behind Let’s Move #LikeABosch! #BoschMobility

Approaches and results are convincing, especially in light of the vast multitude of part numbers in a complex and volatile business environment. At Bosch Mobility, we empower our current and future business by a large IT and process transformation. Within the next years, we have ambitious plans to implement a comprehensive digital update across all Bosch Mobility locations and plants. This update includes in its core the migration of #SAP #S4HANA and the harmonization of business processes across the organization. S/4HANA, the next-generation software suite developed by SAP, replaces our current Enterprise Resource System R/3 after 25+ years. As the backbone of our new IT landscape, S/4HANA digitally manages key commercial and operations processes, from order management and production planning to goods delivery and billing. Following our successful migration to S/4HANA in Wrocław, Poland, last year we are currently preparing for the next pilot at our Budweis plant in the Czech Republic. This strategic pilot aims to optimize end-to-end processes across multiple IT solutions in commercial and shopfloor operations, with S/4HANA and many other business, shopfloor and logistics solutions. The ultimate goal is to pave the way for future industrialized rollouts. Our Budweis pilot project team is diligently working towards a seamless transition and successful S/4 HANA rollout by early 2025. Talking about Going to #Gemba in my last post (https://lnkd.in/etYdVqqN), let me tell you about some personal experiences today. At the Bosch Mobility divisions Vehicle Motion (VM), Electrified Motion (EM), and Power Solutions (PS) in China, I had the chance to experience excellent Industry 4.0 applications first-hand. The sites located in Suzhou, Changsha, and Wuxi, demonstrate high performance with their KPIs (key performance indicators). They showcase a remarkable rate of business growth, all supported by a team that is both highly motivated and knowledgeable. The Bosch Software Center in Wuxi has notably expanded its offerings, achieving comprehensive end-to-end coverage for a wide range of use cases. Similarly, Mobility Electronics (ME) impresses with its mature and holistic data layer, which enhances transparency along the value stream and fosters continuous improvement. Moreover, Cross-Domain Computing Solutions (XC) shows intriguing advancements in the ADAS/Sensor domain. Experiencing our final products - the smart mobility devices, formerly known as cars 😉 - first-hand, was a highlight. Observing our products in action fills me with confidence in the Mobility China team's ongoing strength and contribution to the Bosch Mobility family, ensuring the continuation of delivering excellent results #likeabosch.
