I wrote about Peloton's bumpy ride from hardware company to, increasingly, a fitness media empire — and the loyal fans at the center of it all. Thanks to all the Peloton fans who spoke with me for this or volunteered for the photos. Y'all were delightful and are the ones who keep Peloton pedaling. https://lnkd.in/gwFpBRps

This week I wrote about my biggest problem with Apple's pitch for its Journal app — the fact that AI cannot read the digital room and yet we're supposed to trust it can curate our memories, both beautiful and painful. https://lnkd.in/eDhtfTNn

Like many of my colleagues in digital media and tech recently, I was let go from my job earlier today due to budget constraints at The Shortcut. I'm deeply saddened by this news as this was my second time being laid off since October, less than five months ago, when Daily Mail shuttered Decisionary. Though I'll likely spend the rest of my night eating ice cream and watching true crime shows, tomorrow is another day. I'm going to pick myself up, go for a run, spruce up my resume, and start drafting cover letters for my next big adventure! I've done it before and I can do it again. 😄 If anyone knows of a forward-looking organization that could use a strategic, ambitious young professional with bold new ideas, let's talk. For almost a decade, I've worked with advertisers to monetize content in addition to creating it myself. I've dabbled in a little bit of everything and learned A LOT. Long before I was leading editorial teams, managing partnerships, and selling branded content, I started my journey as an independent tech journalist. Then I was a staff writer, and later an editor, where I established a foundation in affiliate marketing and SEO. Now, leveraging those skills I've spent all this time improving, I'm eager to join a team that can match my appetite for identifying and pursuing the next big thing. Because, as evidenced by the current moment, clinging to the same playbook that worked five years ago – or even just a couple of months ago – doesn't cut it anymore. Ever-changing societal conditions will always lead to a ripple effect on technological advancement. The content we create should adapt to the imminent shift in what audiences want before they want it. . . . . . #media #digitalmedia #jobhunting #tech #content #SEO #affiliatemarketing #editorial #partnerships #advertising #nextbigthing #automotive #evs #electriccarsarethefuture #opentowork
