With India slated to become the third-largest economy, we are well-positioned to become one of the world’s largest beer and craft beer markets. Let’s #RaiseTheBar 🙌🏽 #FunFact - According to Statista, the beer industry is a $45 billion market opportunity, and there are 2.5 billion beers served daily.
Growing at almost 70-80 percent year-on-year, compared to mass-market beer, whose growth rate is 6-7 percent, it's craft beers' time to shine - and what better opportunity than to work with South India’s first distribution craft brewery. Founded in 2006, Geist Brewing Co. began by experimenting with test batches in a small basement; today, it operates a sprawling 10,000 sq. ft. factory where its experienced team brews various craft beer styles, including wheat beers, IPAs, stouts, lagers, and more. The team led by Narayan Manepally is fabulous, and we’re excited to represent Geist as their official communications partner. It's also thrilling to add another beverage segment to our portfolio! When we started Sellar we didn’t know much about the craft drinks industry, but from the conversations we had with breweries, what we did know was that there was clearly a big problem that needed to be solved. Existing solutions didn’t quite work, and listening to our early adopters led us to build something unconventional. Something a little bit… different. More on this in a separate post. However, our recent rebrand fully embraces what makes Sellar different. So much so that we’ve invented a new word to describe what Sellar does for craft breweries. Sellar is the ‘marketspace’ for craft beer. But, WTF is a marketspace?! Read below 👇🏼 https://lnkd.in/ewi9PqEz #rebrand #craftbeer #tradesales

As I mentioned in my last post, through carefully listening to our early adopters Sellar has ended up building something a little unconventional for craft breweries. Something a little.. different… One of the problems with this approach is that we haven’t always had the easiest time explaining what exactly it is that Sellar does. To help with the challenge we’ve had in answering this question, we even recently invented a new word as part of our rebrand. But today, we answer the question ‘So, what actually is Sellar?’. There’s little debate that West Michigan’s craft beer scene is one of the best in the country. And while Grand Rapids may hold the moniker of “Beer City, USA” — the entire region feeds into the phenomenon, including Comstock’s famous Bell’s Brewery. I gravitate to Michigan’s beachtowns — in particular, my “customized” Western Michigan Craft Beer tour. I love the unique blend of bitterness in a robust IPA, the creamy foam of a dark stout, and every shade and flavor in between. I’ll be based in Saugatuck in late May — for 10 days (it’s okay, you can hate me) and you’ll find me in many, many brewery’s from South Haven, Grand Haven, Holland, Benton Harbor, Silver Lake and many, many more from Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, St. Joseph and then some. I’d name more towns and breweries but I don’t want you to think I have a drinking problem 🤓 What are your work vacation plans this spring and/or summer? “Vacation, all I ever wanted Vacation, had to get away ...” — The Go-Go’s Source: Beerconomy #Michigan #Beachtowns #Beer #CraftBeer #NonAlcoholicBeer #Cider #Microbreweries #Taprooms #Brewpubs Slàinte☘️! ✦✦✦ Stephen Carter King Chief of Growth and Marketing and Strategy and ‘The Beerconomist’ + CEO of Beerconomy • Market Analyst • Speaker • Futurist & Author • with beer market trends, insights, data and forecasts Publisher: The Beerconomist

An interesting perspective.
Why are so many craft breweries closing all of a sudden? Owners will tell you they haven't recovered from COVID, while jaded fans are blaming style trends that go against tradition, or their own preferences. Hyperbole around “bad beer” is often cited as well, but none of these are the crux of the problem. When the new wave of breweries began coming online around 2010, a "Hype Cycle" began that caused the perceived financial opportunity in craft beer to inflate to illogical heights. The key to navigating these cycles successfully begins with self-awareness and an accompanying business plan that recognizes the fact that you’re in one.
