Our Acrew Capital partner Lauren Kolodny , published in Fortune, on the opportunity to build fintechs aimed at younger consumers. The piece is a good reflection of the thesis related work our fintech team does. And it dovetails with the opportunity we see across consumer broadly. We are in the midst of a series of generational and technological shifts within our society.

I'm going to say something that in today's market will likely raise some eyebrows: the next wave of generational consumer fintechs are being conceptualized right now. To understand why, we need to rewind the clock back to the early 2010s when the first major cohort of transformational consumer and B2B2C fintech companies were born. Technology was about to completely remake the way consumers interacted with their personal finances. And, in my view, this transformation was powered by three "seismic" shifts: meaningful consumer pain created by macroeconomic upheaval (Global Financial Crisis), a demographic shift (millennials coming of age), and a fundamental technological disruption (mobile becoming ubiquitous). So what does that have to do with today? A version of all three of those same seismic shifts are underway today. And with such foundational changes happening at the same time, comes room for new entrants to solve meaningful financial pains for consumers. Take a look at my article today in Fortune for more color - link in comments. Thank you, Mohamed El Aassar for partnering with me on this.
