MEP & Vice President of the Greens/EFA group | Former 🇪🇺EU Commissioner

Countries had their final say: the Nature Restoration Law has just been adopted! 👏 This is the right decision and exactly what citizens, scientists, and industry have been calling for. With this milestone, we affirm our commitment to preserving our natural heritage and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come. We are still on track to reverse biodiversity loss. Let’s now work together and demonstrate that the 🇪🇺EU remains at the forefront of environmental leadership. This is a collective achievement that showcases the power of collaboration and shared vision. ✨ And from my side, thank you to the EU ministers, civic society, industry stakeholders, and, of course, my dedicated team for their hard work and commitment. Together, we have made a significant step forward.

Dear Virginijus, next opportunity for the European Commission 🇪🇺 to demonstrate environmental leadership is the adoption of the #FinBanNow 🦈 as requested by over 1.1 million European citizens. We are looking forward to discussing this matter with the fishing industry on 9 July in Vigo, Spain. StopFinningEU e.V.

Great news, and that wasn’t a given seeing how some parties tend to obstruct green policies in the European Parliament - EPP supports only 25% 😣 - Far right parties: 6-10% 🤬 ➡️ https://www.wwf.eu/campaigns/2024_eu_elections/eu_parliament_scoreboard/

While this is great, you also need to stop the erosion of biodiversity conservation laws all around Europe. We celebrate a success on one side and see the erosion on the other.

That's great , in current environment disasters in different countries it is need of time. From where we can get draft if this new law. One suggestion as a processor, currently you guys are working to reduce water and carbon consumptions as a flat percentage and it's easy to "manage" then instead you should focuss on process wise consumptions and impose them on retailers e g. Dark colors use double water and steam compared to pastel shades so may be 10% dark colors in a launch and rest pastels can be a possible solution , garments wash uses 4 times more water than any process sand wash is the solution.
