Interesting perspective on GOOGL. The stock is getting hit today, -6.2%. While it reported a slight miss from its search division yesterday, its YouTube and Cloud profitability were solid. Cloud growth actually accelerated to 26% in the 4Q. The company is one of the more reasonably valued AI players, selling at 21x this year's earnings and 18x next for its mid-teens growth outlook. Note below, the street has reacted negatively after 5 of the last 6 earnings reports (red dots), yet each negative reaction was eventually a buying opportunity. Over the entire period (dating back to Sep 2022), GOOGL has gained 51%. Not only is the stock's performance on its post-earnings reaction day a small part of the bigger picture, it can also be wildly inaccurate.
