🎨 Catching the exhibit “MiroMatisse: Beyond Images” at Museo Matisse Nice 🇫🇷 last weekend left me inspired. In the 1930s, after achieving much success, Henri Matisse fell into a "pictorial crisis" (ie. artist's version of writers block). Already in his 60s, Matisse drew inspiration from a much younger, 24 years to be exact, Spanish artist Joan Miro 🇪🇸 Despite a generational gap and belonging to a completely different artistic “camp”, Matisse’s admiration of Miro's work helped guide him towards a new direction of abstract art to create his next series of 🖼️ As I left the exhibit… 💭 - Curiosity is the seed 🌱 of inspiration - Fine line between staying comfortable 💤 & getting stuck 🛑 - Ego ❌ growth - Humbleness 💪🏼 growth - Reinvention can happen at any age 🤩
