The S-100 🚁 #Camcopter 🚁 was recently inducted into the #IndianNavy enhancing Indian maritime capabilities.This #UAV plays a crucial role in maritime Search and Rescue (#SAR) missions in Indian Ocean. Schiebel Systems India and local firm #VEM technologies had showcased the Camcopter #S100 Unmanned aircraft system (UAS) 🚁featuring the script of the #IndianNavy and the roundel of India on the airframe at the Aeromart Hyderabad, India 🇮🇳 2024. The OEM of #S100(UAS) Schiebel and local firm #VEM Technologies had jointly given a response to the Indian Navy's request for information (RFI) to procure #forty 40 Naval 🛳️ Shipborne Unmanned Aerial Systems (NSUAS). The Indian Navy intends to deploy the NSUAS on the Naval vessels over 100m in length. Thanks for sharing. Rotary wing unmanned aircraft is becoming a critical tool to make maritime operations a success. The issues of 3Dimension motion of ships deck, relative wind and other maritime issues are well handled by a rotary system. It also provides the foldable rotors for space constraints. The ability to feed data directly to the ships CMS and fleet combined maritime picture makes it a force multiplier.

Its ability to operate from confined spaces, coupled with real time data transmission and adaptability to various missions, distinguishes it from other uncrewed systems in this category. Maintainability in Salty and humid conditions and robust maintenance echelon is possible due indigenisation. Working in a GPS denied environment with secured communication over existing communication networks and SDR is a game changer. Redundancy in power train and survivabilty in EW environment makes it even a tougher and battle hardened machine.
