Adani Defence and Aerospace unveils "Drishti 10 Starliner" drone for Indian Navy The sophisticated, state-of-the-art UAV marks a significant step towards strategic autonomy and technological leadership in high-endurance, combat-proven, and indigenized advanced aerial systems. The UAV boasts of a 36 hour endurance with a payload capacity of over 450kgs, manufactured indigenously by Adani Defence and Aerospace. The platform is suitable for all-weather conditions with STANAG 4671 Certification and certified to fly over NATO areas and can fly both in segregated and unsegregated airspace. The inaugural launch was hosted by Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO, Adani Defence and Aerospace under Adani Group by Gautam Adani and flagged by Admiral Hari Kumar R on 11th Jan 2024. "This is a momentous occasion and a transformative step in India's quest for self-reliance in ISR technology and maritime supremacy. Adani Group has demonstrated its commitment to unmanned systems having worked systematically over the last many years to develop local capabilities not limited to manufacturing but sustenance through MRO. Excellent example of government/industry collaboration between Dstl and QinetiQ. Combat aircraft are powerful and versatile pieces of kit with a price tag to match. Learning to fly these incredibly sophisticated machines is expensive and takes years of rigorous training. The crewed uncrewed teaming trial demonstrates the potential for drones to fly alongside and operate with current and future combat aircraft, increasing combat capability. Uncrewed vehicles could undertake missions in place of crewed aircraft, keeping personnel at distance from ground and aerial threats.

The images of the ship, whose design is approximately one third the length and half the width of a US Navy or Chinese Navy (Plan) super carrier, were first reported by Naval News and analysed by J. Michael Dahm, a senior resident fellow at the Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies. Their analysis pointed to a form of aircraft carrier with a marked runway and a flight deck wide enough to operate aircraft or drones with a wingspan of around 20 metres (65 feet) such as Chinese equivalents of the Predator drone. The new ship has not been publicised by #Beijing but, if verified, experts say it could underscore China’s aims to advance the use of drones in naval warfare and would put the Chinese military at the forefront of the global race to develop such drone carriers.
