We are proud to highlight startups that are making significant strides in sustainability, its always an exciting moment to hear more especially from our international friends! Once again, thanks to Leave a Nest Singapore Pte. Ltd., we had the opportunity to spotlight Vidacity's commitment to driving sustainability through innovation. We had the privilege to learn more about these two remarkable Japanese startups transforming the food and waste industries. Reducing hidden food loss is crucial, especially in the mid-stream of the supply chain. Astra Food Plan tackles this by repurposing unavoidable food waste, such as outer leaves of cabbage, eggshells, and fruit/vegetable peels, into valuable products. Their food epicycle business utilizes the superheated steamdryer "JOSEN" to create highly concentrated seasonings — like an onion powder that's 100x stronger than current products. Amongst their case studies is Yoshinoya, in which they helped to save $43,000/year by converting onion parts into powder for seasoning and bread for bakeries. Any food businesses facing the problem of food loss, do check them out here : https://www.astra-fp.com/ Next up, embracing waste reduction, KANMAKI Co., Ltd. introduces a pigment-coated film-like ink, historically known as the gold thread of kimonos. This VOC-free innovation is used in automotive, cosmetics packaging, lab equipment, and more. It simplifies processes, significantly reduces lead times, and enhances cost performance, eliminating the need for complex safety equipment. They are seeking partners, distributors, and customers in coating and packaging solutions – check them out here : https://lnkd.in/gw2U_3Ep
