DEI Advisor and Strategist. Social Justice Advocate and Humanitarian. Author. Public Commentator. Keynote Speaker.
Recently, I had the opportunity to present a keynote and lead a community discussion on the topic of Unconscious Bias in the City of East Lansing, Michigan. The thoughtful questions and discussions from this session so inspired me, especially since I was able to connect 1:1 with some really wonderful people. I was moved by their genuineness and desire to learn. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to guide this audience into developing practices that will help create more open, positive, and productive conversations. We also presented all attendees with copies of my tip book “What If I Say the Wrong Thing? 25 Habits for Culturally Effective People” Thank you, City of East Lansing! ---- Slide 5: Carrie Sampson, Robert Belleman, Archie Foote, Karla Forrest-Hewitt, Lois Forgarsi, @Elaine Hardy, Akua Ekye-Addai and I! Slide 9: Robert Belleman, City Manager with the City of East Lansing and Elaine Hardy, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Administrator and Neighborhood Partnerships Initiative Liaison with the City of East Lansing Assigned to you Slide 10: Jabbar R.
