I spent my Juneteenth surrounded by incredible people who put their hearts and spirits into pursuing Truth and Justice. Thank you, Equal Justice Initiative, for hosting this fantastic event to commemorate Juneteenth and honor the legacy of African Americans. We toured the new Freedom Monument Sculpture Park and I was so moved by the artifacts, please learn more about the park here. Amazing work EJI! https://lnkd.in/dU-B-wM9 I was especially touched by my conversation with Bryan Stevenson, a friend and the founder of EJI, about his work defending people on death row and creating the Legacy Museum and Freedom Park. He is truly an inspiration, and his work is a great reminder that the pursuit of justice must always be rooted in love and hope. Enveloped by an overwhelming sense of hope for the future, I reflected deeply on our incredible progress. Considering how much we can offer one another when we acknowledge our shared history and commit ourselves to building a more equitable future is astonishing. Together, we have the power to forge a path of unity and compassion, illuminating the way forward for generations to come. Outstanding! My family and I visited during COVID in 2021 before the sculpture park was dedicated. My youngest has been inspired by Bryan’s work & decided to go to law school because of HIM (not me or her dad). Will have to return!

Thanks for sharing. EJI is an amazing organization! Their museum and monument demonstrate critical parts of our history. A must see/experience place.
