Excited to share that Dana Unconstrained Equity was recently confirmed as a PSN Top Gun for 1Q 2024, which makes for a streak in which the Strategy was a Top 10 performer in each of the last five quarters (press release forthcoming). MEDMEN (MADMEN) I don’t know much, but in preparing to open our dispensary in NY (partners wanted), I took some time to try and get smart on retail best practices. I learned that Medmen was once able to realize net profit margins of up to 33%, at $6k+ per Sq. Ft. (A noteworthy goal for anyone looking for a role model, as these are very sound fundamentals) But as per Forbes, reasons for their losses include: “Lawsuits alleging that the pair ran their company like a “Wolf of Wall Street with a personal slush fund, inspired by Steve Jobs and El Chapo”. The details, included multi-million dollar homes and round-the-clock security allegedly paid for with investor capital, six-figure jobs for people who didn’t seem to do anything, and other (alleged!) clinical delusions. This is why I call them (MADMEN) As we move forward, it's essential to prioritize responsible leadership and transparent financials in our industry. Shares of Pelatro PLC (AIM:PTRO), a provider of campaign management solutions, dropped 35% in early trading following an announcement that the company is facing project delays. Revenues for 2023 are now projected to be approximately $7 million, falling short of the previous management estimate of $8 million. The company also anticipates a loss of around $1 million at the adjusted profit before tax (PBT) level for the current financial year. The revised outlook is attributed to delays in both company deliverables and hardware procurement by customers. Despite the setbacks, Pelatro maintains a strong pipeline valued at approximately $23 million, which includes around $5 million from non-telecommunications prospects. The unmet revenue is expected to be recognised in the next financial year.
