Mindy Kaiser spends most of her day on the shop floor at Hohman Plating , where she is the Operations Manager for the large Dayton, OH, finisher. The industry vet is responsible for driving the financial performance of their Product Focus Teams and actively manages the PFT resources in operations, engineering, quality, and product management. "We make and execute plans that will grow revenue and profitability," Mindy says in this 20 Questions feature at FinishingAndCoating.com. She says every day is busy and fast-paced, and none are the same. "Keep in mind we’re a job shop with over 1,000 customers that turns orders in 3 days on average," she says, which makes you understand why Hohman relies on Mindy so much to get the parts coated to a high-quality spec and out the door. "What makes me proud is growing people," she says. "I know many people say that, but when I get groups of people doing things they never thought they could or producing results better than they believed were possible, then seeing their personal satisfaction, I feel proud – of them and of my part."
