COO & Co-Founder, Upfront Healthcare - Improving Patient Engagement & Access | Thought Leader | #SXSW2024 Speaker | Mentor
As healthcare veterans consider the threat of consumer-driven companies from “outside” industries, I’d like to remind us that no other industry creates as much data as #healthcare. And that data can be put to meaningful use (ha, see what I did there) NOW. At Upfront Healthcare we turn data into #personalized experiences that engage patients and result in outcomes without staff or clinician effort or phone calls (woohoo!) Think 75% of patients scheduling and completing their A1C. Think 60% of referrals getting scheduled in network in a matter of days. Think thousands of visits made available for patients in need of care in previously access constrained markets. The time is now, healthcare. Let’s go!!!
Is healthcare using its data effectively? We met with Carrie Kozlowski, COO & Co-Founder of Upfront Healthcare, to discuss details. Check out this interview for a new perspective on healthcare data and patient vulnerability. 👇 #UpfrontHealthcare #ViVE2024 #healthdata #healthcare #healthIT #healthtech #patientexperience #digitalhealth #HITsm

How to Identify Strategies for Improvement in Healthcare Identify key areas for improvement. This can be done by reviewing data on patient outcomes, quality measures, and patient satisfaction surveys. You can also talk to patients, staff, and other stakeholders to get their input on areas where they see opportunities for improvement. Set specific and measurable goals. Once you have identified key areas for improvement, set specific and measurable goals for what you want to achieve. For example, you might set a goal to reduce the number of hospital-acquired infections by 10% within one year. Develop and implement improvement strategies. Once you have set goals, develop and implement specific strategies to achieve them. This may involve changing processes, training staff, or acquiring new equipment. Monitor and evaluate your progress. It is important to monitor and evaluate your progress over time to make sure that your improvement strategies are working. This may involve collecting data on patient outcomes, quality measures, and patient satisfaction surveys. You can also conduct audits and surveys to assess the implementation of your improvement strategies. Make adjustments as needed. Based on your monitoring and evaluation findings, make adjustments to your improvement strategies as needed. This may involve changing the strategies themselves or simply increasing or decreasing the intensity of your efforts. Here are some specific examples of improvement strategies that can be used in healthcare: Improve patient access to care. This can be done by expanding clinic hours, offering telehealth appointments, and making it easier for patients to schedule appointments online. Reduce wait times. This can be done by streamlining patient intake processes, increasing staffing levels, and using technology to improve efficiency. Improve patient safety. This can be done by implementing safety protocols, such as hand washing and medication reconciliation, and using technology to track and prevent errors. Improve patient satisfaction. This can be done by collecting patient feedback, addressing patient concerns, and providing patient-centered care. #healthcare, #health, #wellbeing, #wellness, #healthtech, #medtech, #healthcareinnovation
