I’ve witnessed many types of business leaders over 30 years of working, networking, observing Yesterday on a plane ride, I was watching a podcast of a leader that truly inspires me... and felt energized There are many leaders I respect, trust, enjoy being around, seek advice from, watch videos of, listen to on podcasts/books/Ted talks, appreciate from afar for various admirable qualities, etc But few that truly give me energy & ‘inspire’ me to do better. To be better. To achieve my potential. To push past obstacles towards worthy goals Everyone is inspired by different things Here's some traits of leaders that inspire me: - A stated purpose and/or noble cause - Walk their talk... and speak with authentic passion (no hypocrisy) - Use their success/platform for good - Demonstrate Genuine Humility (ie always giving credit to ‘the team’, etc) - Confidence, but not arrogance - Self deprecating, humble & caring - Committed & willing to do whatever hard thing is required to succeed -Open and vulnerable about their personal journey, weaknesses, trials, difficulties, learnings BECAUSE they know it could help others It was a short flight, but that’s what came to mind for me How about you? What qualities come to mind of people that inspire you? #inspiration #leadership #motivation

Really interesting listen on my doggo walk this morning. Guy Raz, who has interviewed hundreds of entrepreneurs and leaders globally, highlights the 3 key common behaviours successful leaders have; creating a culture of #collaboration, encouraging (good) risk taking, and allowing for failure. Some great insights - actively incentivising and dedicating time to collaboration outside of ones own team which resulted in Crest White Strips being born. 'Good' risk-taking, freedom to experiment and allowing for failure resulting in the Dyson vacuum being developed from it's 'Ball Barrow' origins (imagine how much more quickly that would have happened had James Dyson had the backing of his Company to continue to experiment!), and how good decision and risk taking led to the creation of 'Paw Patrol', now worth billions of dollars. Underpinning all of these outstanding successes was creating a #culture where people are comfortable raising ideas without fear of being judged, being encouraged to have a voice at the table and being empowered to share 'radical ideas' - what is this also known as? PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY! And all of which leads to greater decision making, greater innovation and ultimately greater business results. It's very easy to see #psychologicalsafety as 'just another DEI buzz word' *gasp*, but this podcast really does highlight why it's so crucial to businesses without actually focussing on the phrase or term. Really interesting listen - highly recommend. https://lnkd.in/e3p8itKc #harvardbusinessreview #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipcoach #innovation #risktaking #culturematters #culture #podcast #diversityandinclusion #diversity #hbr #hbronleadership #collaboration #leadershipbehaviours

As Chief Profitability Advisor, I Help Small Business Owners Maximize Their Business's PROFIT so that they have time and freedom to do what they love. Host of The Profit Answer Man & Richer Soul Podcasts, CFO
Are you tired of leadership books and talks that don't lead to real results? Then you must listen to my recent Richer Soul podcast with Don Schmincke. Don has spent over 20 years researching what REALLY drives performance and has tested his findings with thousands of executives. His insights completely changed my perspective. Here are just a few of the counterintuitive things I learned from Don: Understanding people's ethics, reactions under pressure, and history is key to determining their reliability and fit. Watching them in difficulty reveals their true selves. Analysis is overemphasized - strategy should come from intuition and beliefs instead. Don asked executives if they really had strategic plans or just tactical ones dressed up as strategy. Having a compelling vision that inspires shared sacrifice is more important than culture fit. People will follow leaders with a vision even if they are "a$$holes." Failing powerfully and learning is critical to success - Don studies the many failures of entrepreneurs on their journey to success. This conversation with Don blew my mind multiple times and completely changed my thinking on leadership and performance. Don't miss out on these powerful insights! Listen to our full discussion the link is in the comments. Let me know your thoughts...

I'm the founder & host of the Success Story Podcast (#1 Entrepreneur Pod) and I write a weekly email to 321,000 people.
Why We're Surrounded By Horrible Leaders | Dr. Kimberly Janson, Author & Leadership Expert Full Podcast and YouTube links in first comment. Success Story Podcast (Hubspot Podcast Network) --- Performance. It's the long-standing yardstick for promotion. Bu maybe we should think differently. A top-performer in their current role isn't automatically destined for greatness in leadership. There’s more to the story. Leadership isn’t a one-size-fits-all hat. Let’s deciphers leadership into four non-negotiable elements: 1. Intelligence – The brainpower to untangle the increasingly intricate challenges leaders face. 2. Personality – A balanced character, one that's motivating but not self-destructive. 3. Motivation – The inner drive. A fire that doesn’t need external kindling. 4. Learning Agility – The art of evolving, of embracing newness, and flexing one’s thought muscles. This isn’t about skills or past accolades. It's about inherent attributes. Can you teach someone to be more intelligent or fundamentally alter their personality? No. But if they bring these four to the table, everything else can be molded. The crux: Leadership isn't about past performance. It's about potential. And that potential lies in this dynamic quartet. "To lead tomorrow's world, you need more than today's accolades." Let’s rethink leadership and elevate those truly equipped for the journey ahead.

CX Design Consultant & Leadership Coach 👉 Lead yourself, lead others 👉 with me, you take action & deliver in the most radical human way✌️defying the unsustainable growth frenzy✌️
Company culture is such a buzz term these days. Which is fine when leaders actually go through with implementing it to change their organisation for the better. But the problem comes, says entrepreneur and business transformation expert Gabriel Goldberg, when they express an intent to create a new company culture but then actively work against any form of change. Gabriel sees this all the time. You can spot it instantly, he says. And leaders who promise change but don’t act on it tend to fail. Not necessarily in their business, but in implementing a strong, lasting corporate culture that attracts staff who want to contribute beyond getting money. He’s seen leaders claiming that they're open to change and starting transformation projects but deep down in their heart hating it. So what’s the solution? Gabriel gave a few suggestions in our podcast chat linked in the comments. Check it out to learn how to transform a company’s culture for the better. ▶️ You can listen to the podcast right here: https://lnkd.in/eSycpd_a ▶️ Or on your favorite podcast platform : on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eQDqxuvq or on Itunes: https://lnkd.in/eZvK9Yrz Now, over to you.
