We're really getting up to date now as we look at 2023, #RecFest's 10th year of being a thing! It was, to be fair, the "bigger and better" version of 2022, better because many things were ironed out from the experience of 2022, and if nothing else the team at The Recruitment Events Co. should ALL be applauded for both pushing the boundaries and for the learning that takes place internally after every event. Once again, it was Jamie who I saw first, quickly followed by Bobby and some of the stalwarts of the team, the likes of Graeme King, Roly Parmar and of course the legendary Matt Jones - followed finally by Lois Holland Leonard doing her "host with the most" bit up at #TheGreenRoom. Again, one of the immediate visuals "up the 14th" was SmartRecruiters bus....oh wait, somebody has stolen it and replaced it with a climbing wall! That was genious.....at a festival with tents, ferris wheels and 6,000 people, get something that sticks out above it all! I was joined as Host of the Innovation Showcase Stage by Udder's very own Peter Hetherington - always a pleasure watching him get the crowd engaged and interested. Catching up with people that I may not have seen since 2019 such as Nick Thompson, Clive Meyers, Allyn Bailey - over from the US - was great but oh my word, seeing Hannah West for the first time in 10 years, at her first #RecFest, was the defining moment of 2023 for me personally, at least in terms of RecFest. The stakes are being raised every year by the sponsors to attract people to their booths - even before you consider the brilliant tech. Planet hackajob, the Fountain Games Room and that plane banner.....can't wait to see what 2024 brings???? This was also Year 1 for the Start-up Village and Competition and an opportunity to see some really great up-and coming technology.....congratulations to the joint-winners, Flexa and Gigged.AI The real winners though are the attendees - the TA teams that have seen some tough years recently with job-losses, roller-coaster workloads from feast to famine, having to rebuild employer brands in a very different and ever-changing world and trying to find the tech that supports them. RecFest celebrates all of the achievements, big and small, of this brilliant group of people, the ones that bring the people in to the business. Products and services are, after all, only as good as the people that build them (or build the robots to build them). A standing ovation to you all 👏🏼 So that is 10 years of RecFest.......its gone by in a flash and I can only imagine what that has felt like for Jamie, Lois and everyone else that been part of organising and continuously improving them. I look forward to seeing how you can improve something this good over the next 10 years - I know you are definitely up for that challenge ❤️

Attending #NYTechWeek was a fantastic experience. Here are some of the highlights: Networking with Founders and Funders: Had a fantastic morning breakfast hosted by Republic where I got to connect with folks building incredible companies. There were some amazing founders in the room with huge missions and I'm excited to see them build. Eye-Opening Panel on Delegation: Went to a panel hosted by Double about why founders struggle to delegate (didn't think I needed this advice, but turns out I did). Hearing the panelists' experiences gave me great food for thought on how I'm spending my own time, what pieces of my daily work can be delegated, and how to improve some of our processes here at Worth Search. But honestly, the best part was the optimism buzzing around the NY Tech ecosystem. So many talented people with incredible ideas. It was awesome to get out of the office (aka my house) and meet some of these folks. Proud to be a small part of the NY Tech community for over a decade!
