CelcomDigi and SES Satellites sign MoU to explore MEO satellite connectivity services across Malaysia CelcomDigi Berhad and SES inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on a strategic partnership to explore providing satellite connectivity using SES’s Medium-Earth-Orbit (MEO) and Geosynchronous Equatorial Orbit (GEO) satellites for businesses and communities in Malaysia. Under this MoU, CelcomDigi, through its subsidiaries, will collaborate with SES to explore the development of a local gateway for Satellite Communication (SatCom) services in Malaysia. Both SES and CelcomDigi will explore harnessing SES’s GEO and MEO satellites with CelcomDigi's infrastructure, such as the site operated by Celcom Timur Sdn Bhd, to provide enterprise-grade satellite connectivity services with high throughput, low latency, and a committed service level agreement (SLA). #MoU #Satellite #MEOSatelliteConnectivity #Connectivity #Malaysia #MWC24 https://lnkd.in/eWDUWsq7

Sharing here really insightful numbers on Starlink's cumulative capacity and the impact of our V2 Mini satellites. The original post was shared on X by our VP of Starlink Enginneering Michael Nicolls: https://lnkd.in/eT5pMVJk Capacity is a key indicator of what a NGSO system can really provide and it also helps understanding the difference between the pre-Starlink and the post-Starlink era in the satcom business. A remarkable and tangible change for the benefit of millions of users worldwide. And once Starship is operational (SOON!!!) we will start launching our next gen satellites, thus further increasing our per satellite capacity and performance. #WeRunReallyFast #Starlink #SatComCapacity #TBPS

We spoke to James Person, senior director of global business development at Viasat, on the company’s upcoming ViaSat-3 Ka-band strategy, in 'Going global'. “We have begun launching three global satellites, which together will form our ViaSat-3 global network. Each of the ViaSat-3 highly flexible satellites covers a third of the globe, and between all three we complete global coverage.” “We launched the first of these satellites, the ViaSat-3 Americas satellite on April 30th, this year, which is now properly positioned in its final orbit. It will be serving business jets across the Americas within a few months.” “We believe the future for connectivity to be hybrid in nature, combing geosynchronous with other networks.” View the article here: https://lnkd.in/eScy2s3q Viasat #Viasat James Person #JamesPerson #ViaSat3 #KaBand #satellites Inmarsat #Inmarsat #Broadband #internet #GlobalBroadband #GlobalCoverage #BAM #BizAvMag #BizAv #BusinessAviation #BusinessAviationMagazine

What are the best #satellite #internet providers? HughesNet—best for affordable plans Viasat—best for fast satellite speeds #Starlink—best for unlimited high-speed data The six major satellite internet providers are HughesNet, Viasat,#Starlink, Project Kuiper, OneWeb, and Telesat. But HughesNet, Viasat, and Starlink are the best for most people. The others sell either mostly to businesses or are not yet available. Fortunately, HughesNet, Viasat, and Starlink all offer high-speed internet, unlimited standard data, and availability to 99% of the #US so you can get connected anywhere. HughesNet and Viasat both run off of geostationary satellites, while Starlink uses low Earth orbit satellites. The difference in technology can make a big difference to things like latency and reliability, so read on to decide which satellite provider works best for you. We need #Starlink in #india

The complexity in-orbit is clearly increasing due to the innovation of newspace. As we see huge investment, as well as hype, given to launching thousands of satellites, is the ground segment truly keeping up? What can we expect from ground networks in the near future? Quadsat CEO Joakim Espeland shares his thoughts on the LEO ground segment in an article for Satcom Digital. Read it now: https://lnkd.in/erBqUBVm

National Security Space Leader | Director, SATCOM Integrated Operations Division (SIOD) | United States Space Command
Starlink is definitely a disruptor, but Proliferated LEO is only one tool in the Enterprise SATCOM belt, and brings its own set of capabilities, limitations and risks. The bottom line is, SATCOM has become a commodity, like terrestrial mobile service, and the old business models won't survive. Very few customers - to include military customers - are willing to rent a Ferrari when a Toyota Corolla will get them to their destination. The companies with the agility to adapt to this reality will thrive. The others will die, or be acquired. Industry consolidation will continue. #EntepriseSATCOM https://lnkd.in/dcn22cc4
