'Sales starts once the customer says No, Sir!Learn to face the Problem, Sir' My first and most important Sales lesson was from a 60 year old Salesman in Madurai - Srinivasan - whom I had to call at 10.30 pm one month end night. I wanted his help to manage a distributor on whom I was going to dump some 300 cases of batteries to meet my monhts target. Without telling him. The distributor would definitely say no. So I said 'Let's send it off first and then he will have to accept it' That's when Srini said the lines above. He then asked me to talk to the distributor first - boldly tell him what exactly I was planning to do. Srinivasan agreed to support me only after that. It's an unforgettable lesson I was taught very early by the wise Srinivasan. Last week at a talk with the Samsung Karnataka team at Bengaluru at the launch of Samsung Fold & Samsung Flip - Mohammed Ameen of ABM Telemobiles reached out to me for what he wanted a 'motivational talk'. It was this story that I shared first. Just awesome to go back and talk to my old team and share some stories from my life as a salesman! I've no idea if they were motivated. But the whole experience left me shaken & stirred! #Sales #leadership #motivation #Samsung #1minutestories #storytelling VINEET Mohammed Aasim Mriganka Ghosh

Today marks a significant milestone. Celebrating 14 years in Corporate world.. It all began by delaying my DOJ from 11th Aug'09 to 19th of Aug'09 due to the rumors of disturbance in capital region as Kasab was sentenced to death for carrying out bombings in Mumbai. For 7 consecutive months I had to travel from Saket (Home) to Chand Industry, Manesar (Office) by bike. My family awaited my daily missed calls eagerly, decoding whether I was en-route or had reached my destination, turning each missed call into a signal of movement. Then came the turning point - an interview call from EMC Data Storage, which was then in New friends colony and the only 2 reason I was more interested was proximity from Home and the luxury of fully Air Conditioned office . There was also an element of Family pride as my parents boast about their son working in an MNC. Journey of an Executive Assistant in EMC then began and I ventured into IT industry. Evolving from EA to Business Analyst to Sales Manager at EMC, the journey has been a proof of how much someone can change and develop. With the invaluable guidance of leaders and the camaraderie of colleagues, I transitioned from the realm of administrative duties to the dynamic world of sales, embracing every opportunity to learn and excel. With the acquisition of EMC by Dell in 2016, I took on the role of a Channel Account Manager. This position allowed me to connect with a diverse range of partners, from prominent SIs to smaller IT resellers, aligning my passion for sales with the objectives of the partner community's sales teams. From Dell, I journeyed to become the National Product Manager at Team Computers, followed by the role of a Global Alliance Manager at MTSL. This journey has unveiled the profound significance of the relationships I've forged along the way. The realization of the importance of these "REALationships" in one's corporate journey is a testament to the depth of my experience and growth. As I celebrate these 14 years, I'm grateful for the lessons, connections, and boundless opportunities that the corporate world has offered. Here's to the future and the exciting ventures that lie ahead! PS: Not tagging any body in this post as the list is really Long. #CorporateJourney #ProfessionalGrowth #14years

An Unexpected Networking Opportunity at 30,000 Feet. Today, I had to take a flight from Chennai to Vizag, expecting nothing more than a routine journey. Little did I know that this trip would turn into an incredible networking opportunity. Before takeoff, I was coordinating an appointment with a key client from a private automotive company. Midway through the flight, the gentleman next to me, who had noticed my conversation earlier, introduced himself. He mentioned he had come to Chennai for the automotive exhibition and was now headed to Vizag. He was the BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER at a renowned company. What started as a casual chat quickly turned into an engaging discussion about our shared passion: SALES. We explored the psychology of selling, the thrill of meeting targets, and the dynamic nature of our roles. We both agreed that we thrive on the face-to-face interactions and ever-changing challenges, rather than SITTING IN FRONT OF A COMPUTER ALL DAY. He shared his inspiring journey from sales executive to his current role, emphasizing perseverance and continuous learning. By the end of the flight, we had exchanged contact information, and he kindly offered to assist me with any needs in Vizag. This experience reminded me of the importance of being open to new connections and opportunities, even in the most unexpected places. Networking can happen anywhere, anytime. Here's to new connections and the surprising turns they can take us on! #Networking #SalesJourney #BusinessDevelopment #ProfessionalGrowth #UnexpectedOpportunities #Vizag

Director at MISUMI INDIA | Building "The Kari Kadai"| 12 years of Industry experience | Thought Leader | D2C Startup Enthusiast | Storyteller | Ex-founder at Marketing Bloggers | Ex-Nokia
An honest confession: This city helped me to grow faster in my career. I used to travel from Chennai to Mumbai every week during the early days. For 2 years, I handled that region for KEYENCE INDIA PVT. LTD. I used to meet the customers over there, and they taught me lots of things. I can say Mumbai changed me entirely. It changed my mindset, problem-solving approach, and several things. It is a gift from that city for me. Mumbai people have taught me to create opportunities, dream big from a 10/10 room, work in a team, and generate profits in Crores. In comparison to other cities, Mumbai has its magic of transforming people which they can never imagine. Mumbai has a different sort of vision, a juggad mentality, a hustle culture, and an amazing inspiration for everyone living there. Though my region changed from Mumbai to South India afterwards, that stint has shaped me for different reasons. I still love the city from my heart and will keep loving it. Even if you tell me to share unlimited lessons from the city, I can go on and on. One takeaway from that bunch of lessons would be: You don’t need to have fancy stuff to succeed. Do you agree? What is one lesson you have received in the early stages of your career? #career #mumbai #mindset #india #sales
