A lot of AI in this years’ #Almedalen, and below is something I highlighted in my panel participation as well, the importance to focus on driving the upskilling needed to fully tap into the value AI can bring businesses and society. The ‘Unlocking Europe’s AI potential’-study that Tanuja Randery refers to below has country deep dives, including one for Sweden, where over 1000 Swedish businesses surveyed amongst other things said that; - 53% believe that AI will positively impact their lives in 3 years - 47% of Swedish citizens believe AI will create more opportunities than risks with regards to job security and the future of work YET: - 30% of Swedish businesses cited a lack of digital skills as a barrier preventing them from adopting more AI tools and - Only 35% of Swedish businesses believe it is easy to find new employees with good digital skills. Why not check out any of our initiatives that we drive to train 29 million people for free in digital skills across the globe by 2025, to see if there is something there for you to upskill yours? Eg; - AWS re/Start: A 12 week program for people outside of the labor market to dive deep and learn cloud skills. - AWS Academy & AWS Educate for learning cloud skills in higher and secondary education - AWS Skill Builder, where anyone can go on https://lnkd.in/d3SRfeTH and just expand your learning for free. If you’re starting out why not try AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials? Happy learning! #aws #awsCloud #digitalSkills #unlockingEuropesAIPotential #ai #artificialIntelligence Shawn Walsh Catharina Ljungberg Helena Norberg Karin Kalmerstrom Jonas Tjörnfelt Giovanna Lindgren Michael Andersen Philip Geijer Sjoerd Verborg
Europe’s €600bil opportunity: over half a billion could be unlocked for the EU economy by 2030 if businesses continue to adopt AI at the current rate. Digital skills will be critical for companies to seize this opportunity. Yet our research shows nearly a third of EU companies lack digital skills, hindering their growth and AI adoption, and Europe’s potential. The onus is on public and private sectors to open these doors and create opportunity. At AWS, we're proud to play a role in helping Europe unlock its digital future.🚀 Read more in our report: https://lnkd.in/e4qhxwmS

🔍 AI Investment Update: Anthropic's Funding Journey Continues After Amazon's investment of up to $4 Billion 💰, Anthropic is back in the spotlight, engaging in discussions with Google for a potential $2 Billion funding round. 📈 Valuation Insights: Post this round, Anthropic aims for a valuation between $20 Billion and $30 Billion, a marked rise from its $4 Billion earlier this year. 🤖 Product Development: Building on its existing Claude 2 model, Anthropic has plans for “Claude Next”, a model whose complexity is such that it surpasses current supercomputing capacities. 📊 Historic Funding: Earlier this year, Anthropic secured $100 Million from SK Telecom Co. Ltd. and a $450 Million round with contributions from industry players like Google, Salesforce Ventures, and Zoom Ventures. Documents indicate a goal of raising $5 Billion over the next two years. ☁️ Cloud Integration: To realize Claude Next, which is projected to outperform existing models by 10 times, Anthropic needs significant compute power - around 10 septillion FLOPs. This underscores their collaborations with cloud giants like Amazon and possibly Google. Amazon's AWS is geared to equip Anthropic with high-end compute instances, including the AWS Trainium and Inferentia chips. 🤝 Partnership Benefits: Anthropic's tie-up with Amazon illustrates the convergence of AI development with cloud infrastructure. As AI demands grow, cloud providers can offer tailored solutions. 🌐 Google's Approach: While still under wraps, Google's interest in Anthropic suggests a potential collaboration akin to Amazon's. 🌍 Heja Sverige! Microsoft invests €3 billion in 🇸🇪 Today, Microsoft revealed a massive €3 billion investment in Sweden over the next two years to advance artificial intelligence. This announcement has been warmly received by the Swedish government, which believes it will help the country "remain at the forefront of global competitiveness," according to Microsoft's CEO. Microsoft plans to invest SEK 33.7 billion (€3 billion) in AI development in Sweden over the next two years—the largest investment the American company has ever made in the Nordic country. The firm aims to train 250,000 people by 2027 to "increase knowledge and skills" in AI, and will also expand the capacities of its three data centers. In Sweden, Microsoft will provide 20,000 advanced graphic processors, crucial for training AI models, and will bolster its data storage centers in Sandvikens kommun, Gävle kommun, and Municipality of Staffanstorp. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson commented, "AI is a catalyst for many things. It will also help accelerate development in other areas. This significant investment in Sweden could pave the way for further investments." Brad Smith, President of Microsoft, stated, "This investment should enable Sweden to stay at the forefront of global competitiveness." Global Investment Program Recently, Microsoft has announced substantial AI investments in several countries worldwide. For example, the company committed €4 billion in France - my home country - €3.4 billion in Germany, and significant plans in Asia: €1.6 billion in Indonesia, €2.05 billion in Malaysia, and €3 billion in Japan. In Malaysia, this funding will build AI and cloud infrastructure, create an AI center of excellence, and provide AI training for up to 200,000 Malaysians. AI Raises Concerns Among its achievements, Microsoft has developed VASA-1, an AI technology that transforms a facial photo and a voice sample into an ultra-realistic talking video. Although impressive, this technology raises concerns about potential misuse for fraud and misinformation. To address these, Microsoft has established an AI advisory board to guide the technology's development responsibly. Moreover, Microsoft does not plan to release this new tool or provide technical information until they are confident it will be used responsibly and in accordance with regulations. Amazon’s Massive Cloud Investment Microsoft is not alone in investing in AI and cloud technologies. Amazon announced on May 22nd a €15.7 billion investment over ten years to enhance its data centers' capacity in Spain. The company also plans to invest nearly €8 billion in Germany through its Amazon Web Services (AWS) subsidiary. Additionally, Amazon will invest over €1.2 billion in France, creating more than 3,000 jobs. How is your country attracting investments in AI? #AI #foreinginvestments #microsoft #amazon #GAFAM #fantasticfour #magnificientseven #sweden #france
