I Help Founders/CEOs dominate their industry with engaging high-converting websites | Web Design | SEO | UI/UX | Website Designer
CAPTIVATE, CONNECT, CONVERT: THE ART OF CRAFTING IRRESISTIBLY INTERACTIVE WEBSITES In today's digital landscape, an engaging website goes beyond aesthetics; it's about creating an interactive experience that captivates visitors and keeps them coming back for more. User interaction is the heartbeat of a successful website, influencing everything from user satisfaction to conversion rates. Humans have short attention spans, and that's why you need to be strategic to hold their attention. Here are my best practices for building a website that excels in user interaction. 1. Intuitive Navigation: Seamless navigation is paramount. Design a clear and organized menu structure that guides users to their desired content effortlessly. Keep menus concise and avoid overwhelming visitors with too many options. 2. Responsive Design: In an era dominated by mobile devices, a responsive design is non-negotiable. Ensure your website adapts seamlessly to different screen sizes, providing an optimal experience across devices. 3. Visual Hierarchy: Guide users' attention through the visual hierarchy. Use contrasting colors, font sizes, and whitespace to emphasize important elements, ensuring users easily grasp the most relevant information. 4. Engaging Content: Craft compelling, concise content that addresses users' needs and encourages them to explore further. Incorporate visuals, videos, and interactive elements to enhance the user experience. 5. Clear Call-to-Actions (CTAs): Well-designed CTAs prompt users to take desired actions. Use actionable language and place CTAs strategically to guide users toward conversion points. 6. Interactive Features: Incorporate interactive elements such as quizzes, polls, calculators, and interactive infographics. These features not only engage users but also provide value and encourage longer visits. 7. Personalization: Tailor content based on user preferences and behaviors. Personalized experiences enhance engagement by making users feel valued and understood. 8. Fast Loading Speed: Users have little patience for slow-loading websites. Optimize images, minimize plugins, and leverage caching to ensure speedy page load times. 9. Social Proof and Reviews: Incorporate user reviews and testimonials to build trust. Positive feedback validates your offerings and influences users' decisions. 10. Analyze and Adapt: Continuously monitor user interaction through analytics. Identify high-performing areas and areas that need improvement. Adapt your strategies based on user behavior and feedback. Follow if you get value. Much content on UX & design sucks. I see more regurgitated and boring content by the day. Because creating great content is challenging. It requires many skills. Like: → Critical thinking → Visual design → Storytelling → Writing All play a role in creating design content. Yet, many designers fail at creating their best pieces. So, I broke down 500+ days studying design content. Ending up with 7 requirements for great design content: 1. Overdelivers on a catchy hook (promises & rewards) 2. Aligns with their main topic or discipline (relevance) 3. Addresses well-known topics or problems (virality) 4. Displays their unique expertise (builds authority) 5. Backed by experiments or experience (credible) 6. Resonates with a specific audience (resonance) 7. Prompts people to do something (actionability) Ideally, you should check all these requirements by asking yourself: 1. Does this have a catchy hook? 2. Does this overdeliver on the hook? 3. Does this address my topic or discipline? 4. Does this address well-known topics or problems? 5. Does this display my unique expertise or authority? 6. Does this align with my experiments or experience? 7. Does this resonate with my target audience? 8. Does this prompt people to do something? Next to that, you can structure & format posts like I do: 1. Write a hook → Deliver on the hook → Prompt readers (HRP) 2. Make a point, list 3 to 7 items, make another point (1:3-7:1) 3. Order lines based on length for visual direction (like this) 4. Aim for the shortest version for conveying an idea 5. Add visuals whenever you can to increase clarity But who is nailing design content? Here are 5 people I love lately: DeeKay Kwon (how to show your work + process) Tom Scott (how to show & share what you learn) Emily Anderson (how to share practical ideas) Soren Iverson (how to show skills creatively) Gaétan Pautler (how to show your work) Good luck creating design content that doesn't suck. Quite challenging. I think mine often sucks as well. So share examples of design content you love. It's helpful for designers to get inspiration. And please: Don't let this stop you from creating. Let this help you start iterating. P.S. What do you think makes great design content? #ux #design #content #writing

Nothing's more frustrating than working without actual content. As UX and UI designers, we have to come up with creative solutions to create user-friendly products and services. Doing this without real context is quite challenging. I've faced this in past projects: clients ask you to start making a website or app template, but they don't give you the content. It's perplexing. How can you find a solution for a product or service you know nothing about? It's like designing with a blindfold on. Real content helps us see more clearly what we're trying to achieve. A few important points include: - You can understand how content fits with design and visual elements. - You ensure the content is easy to read and grasp. - Prevent format, positioning, or alignment problems. - Get an upfront, honest preview of the design's appearance. Content is a central part of design and needs consideration when starting a project! If your client prefers to "figure things out as we go," believe me, you'll face challenges, numerous revisions, and waste time trying to design without real context. #ux #uxdesign #copywriting #content #copy #uxdesign #uxuidesign

Every website has it, but if you don't know what it is or why it's there, it may not be working effectively for you. What is microscopy? It's - ✴️ a short sentence or word ✴️ targeted ✴️ very contextual It's not just on websites but all around us. Your microcopy should help your website's UX (user experience). It should help a user navigate a product or page, address user issues (error messages) and provide context to their experience. Examples include: 😀 A label on a form field 😀 Confirmation message after placing an order 😀 A CTA button 😀 Page not found (404 page) Why is microcopy important? Users skim websites and often read only about 50% of an article and 20% of a website. Your microcopy plays a vital role in providing essential information so that the audience doesn't miss anything important. Great UX microcopy: ✅ is the fastest and easiest way to improve an interface ✅ communicates a brand voice ✅ makes people happy ✅ instils trust in a product or website #microcopy #copywriter #ux #website #copywriting
