Hoy se celebra el Dia del Trabajador Vitivinícola en Argentina. Desde nuestra primera cosecha en 1977, trabajamos con más 20 viticultores de las regiones históricas de Luján de Cuyo y Maipú en Mendoza, conocidas localmente como la “Primera Zona”, ya que ambas recibieron las primeras vides europeas a fines del siglo XIX durante la profesionalización de la industria vitivinícola mendocina. Estas dos regiones componen el Oasis Norte y Sur del Río Mendoza, y una importancia genética por sus vides centenarias de selección masal en la provincia. La mayoría de estas viñas históricas son de propiedad y están cuidadas por familias con más de 3 generaciones dedicadas a la viticultura, importante actividad económica de la comarca. La mayoría de los viñedos son naturalmente orgánicos en sus prácticas aunque con poco acceso a certificaciones, así como también la educación y consciencia en prácticas sostenibles basadas en tres pilares: ambiental, económico y social. Our Italian cugine are growing in number and showing how collaboration across the wine industry can work. It seriously makes us envy how well supported and structured they are, by this support. They report : "In Italy, women lead 28% of agricultural enterprises with vineyards and/or cellars. They manage 12.3% of the industrial wineries and 26.5% of the 73,700 Italian wine companies. The SAU, Usable Agricultural Land, under female ownership is only 21% of the total but produces 28% of agricultural GDP. In 2022, Nomisma Wine Monitor (captured) photographed the female presence in Italian wine companies: in vineyards and cellars their presence is just 14%, but they grow to 80% in the role of marketing and communication, to 51% of sales professionals and to 76% of who receives the wine tourists." check out the website for Le Donne Del Vino https://lnkd.in/enVybvb Plus they have over 1000 members across Italy! Due to the difficult drought situation in the vineyards of El Penedès (Barcelona), Raventós Codorníu has taken a proactive step this harvest by increasing the price paid for grapes by up to 40%.
