A lot of wisdoms in these visuals. All biological beings, yes that includes humans too, perform according to an inverted U-shape form. You do get more performance if you work harder when you are doing little.
However, as all living things there is a maximum where working harder does not provide more results. You will produce less. Then resting more, will get you back on track to achieve better results. Balancing activity with rest in a continuous cycle is the key to achieve sustainable productivity and success.
