Australian professional services firms continue to face ransomware attacks at a higher rate than other industries, according to the Australian Signals Directorate and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Due to the prevalence of ransomware attacks on these firms, and the valuable information they hold, it is likely the government will continue to work alongside the legal sector to uplift cyber maturity by providing assistance and strengthening regulatory obligations. Cyber Partner Blare Sutton recently spoke with Lawyers Weekly on how law firms can get ahead of changes by conducting business-oriented risk assessments and developing practical, pragmatic risk management plans.
