U.S. Department of Education’s Post

On July 2, 1964 – 60 years ago – President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law. Today, ED continues to uphold this law to protect everyone in our school communities from discrimination based on race, color, or national origin: https://lnkd.in/eP9WwAwz

  • President Lyndon B. Johnson signs the 1964 Civil Rights Act as Martin Luther King, Jr., and others, look on.

July 2, 2024, in Los Angeles, Palestinians violently blocked believers entrance to synagogues. Are our Jewish brothers and sisters not allowed the Civil Rights to practice Freedom of Religion without being beaten by the Palestinians as they literally were on July 2, 2024 in Los Angeles????? This has gone beyond the campus campaigning and now is directly pointed towards synagogues. We are not in the Middle East!!!!! We are in the United States of America!!!!! If Palestinians want to express their ageless hatred towards the Jews let them do it in the Middle East. Otherwise, we should throw them in prison and throw away the key for Palestinians violently blocking Jews entrance to worship in any synagogue. It has been exactly 60 years ago since President Lyndon Baine Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law. Can we continue to guarantee Civil Rights and Religious Freedom and Liberties for all? With the current election and a candidate who is a convicted felon 34 times over who lies nearly every time he speaks to the public??? Can we really trust our Civil Rights and Liberties will be here even in four more years let alone in sixty more years on July 2, 2084????? John Milton DeGuenther

When he signed it, President Johnson said to his staff, the South will never vote Democrat again and all that hate will go into the Republican party. He was right.
