The Justice Department issued the following statement from Attorney General Merrick B. Garland on the Supreme Court’s decision in Fischer v. United States “January 6 was an unprecedented attack on the cornerstone of our system of government — the peaceful transfer of power from one administration to the next. I am disappointed by today’s decision, which limits an important federal statute that the Department has sought to use to ensure that those most responsible for that attack face appropriate consequences. The vast majority of the more than 1,400 defendants charged for their illegal actions on January 6 will not be affected by this decision. There are no cases in which the Department charged a January 6 defendant only with the offense at issue in Fischer. For the cases affected by today’s decision, the Department will take appropriate steps to comply with the Court’s ruling. We will continue to use all available tools to hold accountable those criminally responsible for the January 6 attack on our democracy.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/geDqUQ4P

“And the Government’s interpretation would give prosecutors broad discretion to seek a 20-year maximum sentence for acts Congress saw fit to punish with far shorter sentences” is only a problem because they are not charged with a seditious conspiracy. Once all co-conspirators who plotted to stop the lawful transfer of power are charged, you won’t need to do much else. There is only one person who had the motive and the media influence needed to attempt to take control of the Capitol.

Give us all a break on Jan 6. This has been blown out of proportion. Convictions have been way more severe then needed and people are still sitting in jail waiting for these people to hand down an obsurd verdict on there sentencing. Let’s all not forget that Nancy takes full responsibility for NOT accepting Tump’s offer for national Guard troops. That day sucked but it’s BS to make the election about it inless you are going to tell the full story not just your weak sound bite .

I am still waiting for Ray Epps to be held accountable for what he admitted to doing...When will we see that Mr. Garland?

We are fortunate Garland was not confirmed on to the court. He has shown some serious Lavrentiy Beria tendencies… “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.”

What about your abuses to innocent citizens who become victims of your microchip implant program? The 9th circuit ruled your thieving agents had to return the personal property stolen from homes, cars, safety deposit boxes, etc or pay restitution! I’m waiting for the hundreds of thousands of dollars of my things to be returned! Your agents committed treason and did it me to keep me from exposing them to authorities. How much of the millions did you get Mr Garland? Step down or obey the law. You’re agents are raping murdering thieves! Reign them in! I have eye witnesses and expert testimony. 20 years of your corrupt agents who should get the death sentence!
