I'm going to repost this, because it's a #Remote #UXResearcher opportunity, but with a BIG caveat: It sounds like an exciting gig that someone will be a perfect match for. But the structure (and explicit signal), is that the perfect person will *not* end up matched to this role. I have a lot of empathy for both employers seeking to find qualified staff, and for unemployed #UXRs looking for their next role (and even employed #UXRs looking for a better role!) But just as I counsel job-seekers not to #SprayAndPray their resume at as many openings as possible, so too is this recruiting method doomed to sub-par results. Instead: 👉 Take the time to be explicit about who should apply, and who should *not* apply. Beyond years of experience, should I have experience in this vertical? Which research methods will likely be needed? 👉 Take the time to craft a recruiting and interview process you can *commit* to. How long will responses take? What will the interview process look like? How many rounds? You should be putting as much effort into crafting the hiring process appropriately as you expect applicants to put into crafting their custom cover letters, resumes, and portfolios. 👉 Do you expect custom cover letters, resumes, and portfolios? Say so! These are not unreasonable demands (really!), and they have the added benefit (really!) of *reducing* the quantity of applications (and giving you a quick reference point for how truly interested an applicant is in *this* particular role. 👉 What *specifically* about the company culture should I be looking at? I have yet to come across a company who refers to their culture as "subpar", "depressing" or "emotionally overwhelming and rife with unappreciative management", and yet many company cultures are those things. #JobSearchingSucks #HiringSucks #WeCanDoBetter

I'll have to give Microsoft props for investing in this, as the other major AI vendors continue to treat UX as an afterthought. (I recently saw a set of job postings from Leonardo, which I love dearly for their image quality, but not a single UX job on the list, and the frontend-engineer jobs had a bullet point saying something like knowledge of UX design beneficial, but not required. 🚀 Hi LinkedIn community! I'm currently on the lookout for a remote UX Researcher position (Senior or Middle). Curiosity led me to analyze the job market on LinkedIn. As of today, there are 645 UX positions in Europe with mentions of UX research. Specifically, 44 are for UX Researchers, 11 for User Researchers, along with 3 Lead UX Researcher and 13 Senior UX Researcher roles (from the total of 44 UX Researchers and 11 User Researchers positions). Surprisingly, only one of these positions is remote (clearly stated in the title). Despite insights from various UX resources, these numbers reflect the real job market for UX Researchers in Europe. For those, like me, in pursuit of a remote position, the competition is intense—we're all gunning for that single remote spot! 😜 Here's a question for you all: What's the job position situation in your field right now?
