Al-Shihr coastal city residents in #Yemen can now rejoice in a brand new public park! UNOPS with funding from The World Bank recently completed construction on a sprawling 1,700 square-meter garden under its #YIUSEP programme, offering a much-needed green escape for its growing population of around 200,000. The park has become an instant hit, attracting a staggering around 14,000 visitors daily. This equipped public park has resulted in a constant crowds of activity and a welcoming atmosphere. The park is so special because of the amenities that are drawing all ages visitors: - Convenience and Comfort: The park boasts separate restrooms for both women and men, ensuring visitors' comfort. - Protection from sun heat:  Concrete awnings, smartly designed as 49 umbrellas, provide shade from the sun, allowing visitors to enjoy the outdoors year-round. - Fun for All Ages: Children can unleash their energy and imaginations with a variety of playground equipment specifically designed for their enjoyment. - Nature's Touch: The park features agricultural and afforestation ponds, and imported artificial grass at the playing areas fostering a connection with nature and potentially serving as learning tools. - Safety First: Park authorities prioritize visitors' safety by providing essential safety tools throughout the park. - Sustainable Lighting: The park is illuminated with a network of 175 eco-friendly all-in-one LED solar lights (including batteries and solar panels). This provides nighttime enjoyment as the weather becomes pleasant. The park provides a space for leisure, recreation, and connection with nature for all ages. With its comprehensive amenities and focus on sustainability, this park is sure to be a beloved landmark for years to come.
