This post is essential reading. NZ has been on a pathway of increasing division for some years, and it is collective weakness. Defence veterans show NZ the way. Integration, dialogue, learning from history and setting a joint culture pathway to the future is essential. Do we want to continue the pathway we are on and reach the terrible outcomes that Bosnia, Germany, and Rewanda did in the past? OR shall we act on the Defence example. A society that stands together is a strong society. Nā tō rourou, nā taku rourou ka ora ai te iwi (With your food basket and my food basket the people will thrive)
"Having spent many years in the military, many of my fellow soldiers were Pākehā, but we did not look at each other as Māori or Pākehā, just fellow soldiers/mates." This quote illustrates the true nature of the unity experienced by New Zealand veterans. In the NZDF, the bond between soldiers transcends racial and cultural differences. We stood/stand/will stand and fight together as one, supporting and protecting each other, as brothers and sisters. In this, there is a salutary lesson for our current and future society. In New Zealand today, where societal divisions seem more prominent than ever due to the agenda driven narratives of a self serving minority on both sides, much can be learnt from the solidarity displayed by our veterans. Their example demonstrates that racial unity and mutual respect are eminently achievable, especially amidst adversity. If you're having difficulty figuring out how to do it, ask a New Zealand veteran. No Duff Charitable Trust Nos Adepto Fieri Stercore https://lnkd.in/gjrmVV2p

Privileged to work with some of the top companies, philanthropic families, and generous supporters to support Navy SEALs and their families
A Navy SEAL will spend his life training and sacrificing to reach and maintain the pinnacle of human performance. This is required to serve amongst the ranks of our most elite warriors. If a SEAL can no longer serve due to injuries sustained in combat or training, you can imagine the loss of identity. It's part of why the Navy SEAL Foundation provides programs to assist with transition. In fact, this initiative is so important, it's one of our five pillars of support. The caliber of person who earns their spot amongst our nation's toughest and most elite warriors is someone who would be a valued addition at any institution. It's our job to prepare them for that chapter of their lives and give them the skills to perform in the private sector. If the holidays are a time that inspires you to support organizations that truly stretch your giving to provide the most significant impact to those who need it, I would implore you to support the Navy SEAL Foundation and, more importantly, these men and their families who give so much and who may be apart from one another right now.
Even our most elite teams need a helping hand when they transition out of the military. The Navy SEAL Foundation partners with top institutes, nonprofits, and experts to provide mentorship and valuable resources. #VeteranSupport #NavySEALFoundation

Business Development Leader with Engineering background I Expert in Strategic Marketing, Corporate Communications, Thought Leadership & Project Management I Government Projects I Digital Marketing I Story Telling
The Almanack of Naval Ravikant is a compilation of thoughts shared by Naval Ravikant on wealth, happiness, and purpose. The #author shares Naval's wisdom on wealth creation, through building specific knowledge and using leverage. Some thoughts that I found valuable are: "Desire is a contract you make with yourself to be unhappy until you get what you want." "Escape competition through authenticity." "Retirement is when you stop sacrificing today for an imaginary tomorrow." Although the #book is #insightful, in my opinion, it lacks the much-needed depth. #BookReview #selfhelpbook

Today, Sunday, May 5th, we commemorate the 79th anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic. Not only to honour the struggle, sacrifice, and loss, but also to celebrate heroism and courage in the face of daunting obstacles. The longest battle of the Second World War, it lasted from the outbreak of hostilities in September 1939 until victory in Europe in May 1945. But victory came with a high cost. 4,600 Canadian lives were lost, and the Royal Canadian Navy lost 14 warships to U-boat attacks and another eight ships to collisions and other incidents in the North Atlantic. However, the battle completely transformed the Royal Canadian Navy, quickly expanding it from a tiny, ill-equipped, and under-trained force into one of the largest navies on earth. But any battle is about more than facts and figures. It is about the people who fought, and their stories of courage and grit. Join us in commemorating the heroic Canadians who gave their all in the Battle of the Atlantic so that we may have the chance to live in peace.
