Imagine getting to work with your role model every day. That's the story for this father-daughter duo, Dr. David Ade and Dr. Rachel Koziczkowski. After spending the past 30 years caring for his community, Dr. Ade now shares his experience with his daughter at UnityPoint Clinic. “I've been able to witness, firsthand, her journey from a little girl with big dreams to a remarkable doctor making a difference," Dr. Ade says. Inspired by her dad, Dr. Koziczkowsk also graduated from the same university as her father. Their tight bond is now a partnership rooted in care, commitment and passion for helping others. “Working alongside my dad at the clinic is a reminder of the dedication he brings to every patient, and our amazing team. In one of our group therapy sessions, we sometimes use a technique called the Empty Chair. 🪑 Residents choose an entity, be it a person, place, or a part of themselves, and have in conversation with it. Sitting in one chair and addressing their chosen entity in the empty chair, they share what needs to be said, often leading to self-engagement in role reversal. The scene plays out until the resident gains insights and closure. Afterwards, residents share their internal experiences and receive valuable feedback from the group. #SUD #SUDRecovery
