There's strong support for public school choice options. Of the registered voters surveyed by Democrats for Education Reform in a July national polling, ➡ 65% favorably viewed public charter schools ➡ 67% favorably viewed public career academies ➡ 59% favorably viewed public magnet schools Similarly, in our winter 2023 survey, we found that of the 53.7% of parents who considered or are considering choosing new schools for their children, ➡ 45.6% of parents said they considered traditional public schools within their neighborhood ➡ 38.2% of parents said they considered public schools outside of their district zones ➡ 31.5% of parents considered public charter schools Regardless of their choice, parents want and are actively seeking better educational environments for their children. In fact, nearly half of parents say that at least one of their children will attend a different school next year. 10% of the school age population (a million out of ten) are not in school. The proportion has risen sharply since Covid. Hence the growing market for on-line education services like the Minerva Virtual School. Which employers are looking to support virtual careers services linked to vocational educational packages designed to help foster extreme talent but also attractive to all those outside the minority who thrive via traditional academic routes. P.S. I hated revising for exams and memorising the "right" answers. https://lnkd.in/eZBBNn7z

Education is not an equal playing field. If you are born into a well off family you are more likely to succeed than if you are born into a family from a low-income background. It is not your fault if you are born into a well off family, and it is not your fault if you are not. The fault lies not with families but with a system that tilts the scales against those from low-income backgrounds. The escalating costs of school supplies, uniforms, and sports kits can be prohibitive for many parents. Access to crucial educational resources such as tutors, school trips, and extracurricular activities is a luxury for numerous families. Over time, this creates a compounding disadvantage for those unable to meet the financial demands of education. We are working on giving young people an equal chance through school, to help them achieve what they want to achieve through school and land the jobs they want in the future. Higher Education Awareness One of the first steps to increase higher education access for underrepresented groups is to raise their awareness and aspirations about the benefits and possibilities of higher education. Outreach and awareness programs can take various forms, such as mentoring, tutoring, college visits, summer camps, workshops, and online platforms, that expose students to different academic and career options, provide information and guidance on admission and financial aid processes, and foster a sense of belonging and confidence in their potential. Outreach and awareness programs can target students at different stages of their educational journey, from elementary school to high school, and involve various stakeholders, such as teachers, counselors, parents, peers, and role models. https://auv.edu.vn #auv #auvvietnam #auvscholarship #auvadmission
