United Way of Larimer County is partnering with Rocky Mountain Equality to expand support for LGBTQ+ teenagers in Weld and Larimer counties in Colorado. The 2021 Healthy Kids Colorado survey highlighted a mental health crisis among LGBTQ+ youth, with disproportionately high rates of suicidal ideation and self-harm. To address these critical needs, United Way of Larimer County collaborated with the Alliance for Suicide Prevention of Larimer County and Imagine Zero to create a powerful mural depicting youth voices. This mural, created by Jess Bean serves as a visual reminder of the struggles LGBTQ+ youth face and the importance of community support. Through partnerships like these, the United Way Network is committed to ensuring the well-being and empowerment of LGBTQ+ youth in our communities. #PrideMonth
