"War is the worst enemy of human rights. It is an aberration, not just in the current context, but also everywhere else." – United Nations Human Rights chief Volker Türk briefing the UN Human Rights Council on the war in Ukraine on Tuesday. His remarks came the day after a wave of Russian attacks in the country. Dozens of civilians were killed and critical infrastructure damaged as a result of the strikes. “The pursuit of war – the practice of escalation - cannot become the new normal.” https://lnkd.in/e2GjBtx9

“War, what's it good for? Absolutely nothing. Say it again.” — Edwin Starr🇺🇸🇺🇳
It is saddening that escalation is seen as the only language that some entities of protection want to answer to. Peace is our final state and always prevails. Minds are confused, unable to deal with their traumatic experiences and perpetuating violence as a result. There is another way. There are plenty of other ways... Thank you United Nations. 💛🙏🏽☀️ #LetsCareTogether #MentalHealth #MentalWealth™
And why do you exist then ?! Keep on watching massacres of children in Gaza.
Should say: >>Cruel, unworthy leaders<< are the worst enemy of human rights. War is started by PEOPLE. When you write it that way it sounds as if WAR is a phenomenon we have no control over. Words matter. #unitednations United Nations Volker Türk
Dear UN,Let the North Atlantic Treaty Organization restrict it's Membership to all those Countries which share a common border of North Atlantic Ocean and none others . other states should not be allowed into NATO as the same may create a fear of dominance and Security Concerns for the other neighboring states . Once this is done Peace prevails in the world .
United Nations, Volker Türk's poignant words remind us that war not only shatters lives but also decimates the very fabric of human rights. The recent attacks in Ukraine have left a trail of devastation, claiming innocent lives and crippling essential infrastructure. His call to resist the normalization of conflict strikes a chord deep within us all. It's a stark reminder that the pursuit of peace must prevail over the chaos of war. As we witness these tragic events unfold, we're urged to stand together in advocating for humanity and compassion. Each of us holds the power to demand a world where every individual's rights are safeguarded, free from the horrors of armed conflict.

3wNever heard this noise from the UN when the US invaded Iraq/Libya or Afghanistan! When the US invaded Iraq, it was for ‘saving Iraqi women’ but when Russia attacks Ukraine it is all ‘cruelty’ and ‘human right violations’! It looks like, for the UN, only European and American lives matter!
