Our human family is growing. The world’s population is projected to peak in the mid-2080s, increasing from 8.2 billion people in 2024 to approximately 10.3 billion before it begins to decline. A new report from the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs also highlights that by the late 2070s people aged 65 and older will outnumber children. The rapid increase in population, coupled with high inflation and volatile exchange rates in Ghana, poses significant challenges for effective policy implementation by governments. It is crucial for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to intensify their research efforts and increase interventions in marginalized communities to address these pressing issues. By deepening research activities and providing more support to deprived communities, NGOs can play a vital role in helping mitigate the socioeconomic challenges exacerbated by population growth, inflation, and exchange rate fluctuations. It is important for NGOs to focus on inclusive and sustainable interventions that empower local communities, promote economic stability, and enhance social well-being. Through collaborative efforts and strategic interventions, NGOs can contribute to building resilient and thriving societies amidst these challenging circumstances.

United Nations, The projected rise to 10.3 billion people by the mid-2080s is a significant milestone, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges we will face. As the number of older individuals surpasses that of children in the late 2070s, it underscores the need for thoughtful planning and adaptation in our communities and economies. This demographic shift calls for innovative solutions to ensure a balanced and thriving society where everyone can contribute and benefit. By preparing now, we can create a future where all generations support and enrich one another. Let’s embrace this challenge with optimism and foresight, working together to build a world that honors and uplifts every age group.

What may sound like a big problem of caring for increased population has solutions for a healthy planet and people. Our Creator gave us written guidance and wisdom. Instead of separate housing for unmarried youth and elderly, they live as a family together. That eliminates the expense of at least two dwelling, reducing costs of money and utility use and fuel use. They can enjoy planting gardens and fruit trees and enjoy food producing pets for fresh food and healthy bodies. That gives food security and reduces health care needs including insurance. This eliminates most food waste and plastics pollution. The work environment can prosper by condensing all buying and selling to six days. Our Creator commands that each week the seventh day is a day of no work. That reduces wear on infrastructure, vehicles, machinery and equipment. Our Creator is the proven God of Israel and the whole earth and says, Nothing is impossible for Him; and promises to heal our land if we turn back to His written truth. We have no other methods or technology to save us.

It will be sooner than that. Trump will declare war on China, China will invade Taiwan, Putin will continue to expand Russia by invading other nearby countries and others still will attack Israel. Millions of lives will be lost. No one wants peace. “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” – George Santayana, The Life of Reason, 1905. From the series Great Ideas of Western Man. In the words of the late John Lennon, Give Peace a Chance

I forgot to add is the thousands that will perish as a direct result of climate change. For example, 1,300 Muslim pilgrims reportedly died during the recent annual Hajj, or pilgrimage to Mecca, in Saudi Arabia.

It will decline? Are we sure about that? Is climate change to blame for that?
