This weekend I have re-published an article I wrote for TRACTIVITY last week. This video covers the main points as I summarise some recent decisions of the Information Commissioner on requests involving public consultations. I conclude that organisations these days need to invest in adequate stakeholder management systems. One request I looked at specified the system used by the organisation in question, and knew exactly what to request. Never underestimate how much FOIA requestors know. What's surprising is how many disputes end up at the Info Commissioner's office - up to 200 a month. Many public bodies get it wrong, so I guess there is still need for training and advice on this tricky issue.
