More than 7 million people are in need of humanitarian aid in #Mali — and over half of them are children. Here's how UNICEF and Education Cannot Wait (ECW) are ensuring children in Mali have the educational support they need to shape bright futures.

UNICEF’s Mira Nasser is at a Child-Friendly Space in #Sudan, where more than 400 children are finding a place to learn, play and heal together. Sudan is facing the world’s biggest displacement crisis, with ongoing war and violence forcing children and families from their homes in search of safety. Here, children have a space to be children again.

Yesterday, the largest children's medical center in #Ukraine was targeted during a wave of deadly missile strikes. UNICEF is on the ground, providing urgent assistance.

Today’s attack on #Ukraine’s largest medical center for children is “yet another brutal reminder that nowhere is safe for children in Ukraine," says UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell. "Hospitals should be safe havens, and they are afforded a special level of protection under international law," says Russell. "Civilians, including children and the facilities and services they rely on, must always be protected." UNICEF is providing emergency assistance after Ukraine’s Okhmatdyt Hospital was targeted during a wave of deadly missile strikes — and will continue working across Ukraine, including in frontline areas, to respond to the immediate needs of children and their families. More than anything, the children of Ukraine need lasting peace.
