#WestfieldDonauZentrum celebrates #PrideMonth with an LGBTQIA+ flag exhibition 🏳️🌈 Vienna's largest shopping center once again embraced the colors of the rainbow this year and used #PrideMonth to send a strong message of #diversity, #inclusion, and the visibility of LGBTQIA+ issues. 🌈 In collaboration with #TamaraMascara, Austria's most famous drag queen, the center opened an exhibition featuring the flags of the LGBTQIA+ community. Held in the ARENA event space, the exhibition showcased various flags representing the diverse identities within the LGBTQIA+ community. Each flag highlighted a distinct identity or group, symbolizing the vibrant diversity and inclusivity of the community. Visitors to the shopping and leisure destination had the opportunity to attend the exhibition free of charge during opening hours until June 30, joining Westfield Donau Zentrum in promoting greater diversity and #acceptance in society. The exhibition, which attracted many center visitors as well as people from the community, was a highlight in advocating for diversity and a successful blend of information and entertainment. 🌟🏳️🌈 A heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making the exhibition and Pride Month at our center so remarkable! #BetterTogether #Pride #WestfieldDonauZentrum #URW #URWAustria Katalin Szabó Zsolt Juhasz

Programme Lead Venice, previously Director Arts India, British Council. Experienced senior international arts director with extensive background in government, nonprofit, and commercial cultural and educational fields.
My recent policy piece focussed on women who lead the way in arts and culture for urban regeneration, following the British Council’s recent conference, Taking Place. Festivals From India More Power to Women Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s directive to ‘fight for the things that you care about but do it in a way that leads others to join you’ serves as a crucial guiding principle, particularly for leaders in the arts who possess the authority to influence policy for urban regeneration. As an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court in the US, Ginsburg was a trailblazer for human rights, advocating for marginalised communities and women across the world. During my time in India, I had the privilege of meeting numerous exemplary women in positions of power within the cultural sphere, diligently addressing inequalities with similar adept leadership and an inclusive approach to garner support. The recently published British Council research delves into India’s culture and creative industries and spotlights women in the arts. The study highlights their entrepreneurial endeavours and examines the gender dynamics within the sector. While accentuating success stories, it also deliberates on potential solutions to the many challenges encountered by women. India’s G20 presidency in 2023 underscored the intrinsic connection between gender equality, cultural heritage, livelihoods, and sustainability, all directed towards fostering inclusive growth in alignment with UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). How big actually was WorldPride? We found that almost 310,000 visitors descended on Sydney in March, including 21,000 international visitor who injected $228 million in tourism spending, surpassing expectations in a tough economic environment. While there's a clear direct benefit, our analysis also reiterated the longer-term economic return to ensuring Sydney remains safe and inclusive for LGBTQ+ communities: 🏳️🌈 One in five attendees said they changed their mind about an issue of gender or sexuality following the event. 💕 More than 9 in 10 said the event increased their sense of safety in Sydney ✨ 4 in 5 local businesses said the event bolstered Sydney's reputation 'as an event capital' 🌏 International guests accounted for one in five visitors – higher than a routine Sydney Mardi Gras. 38% of overseas visitors were from the United States and 7%from Canada, with 22%from the Asia-Pacific, 15% from the UK and 5% from Germany. When I became an economist, I can't say I imagined the opportunity to design a survey of my own community which so clearly reiterates the power and value of the LGBTQ+ economy - what a privilege. The right to love who you love❤️And the right to be who you are❤️ I was so proud yesterday of walking in the pride parade with my colleagues through the streets of Copenhagen celebrating love and diversity. I was walking besides the courageous people who everyday experience exclusion on different levels and in different situations. They where in the parade, by the road and sitting in the windows celebrating diversity and love. I brought my own daughter and saw children and teenagers of all ages watching and cheering. I hope they will experience an even more inclusive society and be more inclusive themselves in the way they behave, think and talk. At Novo Nordisk we work to be a more inclusive and diverse company. An inclusive and diverse working environment creates great results, it fosters better and more innovative ideas and it is just more fun. We challenge our own and others unconscious bias to get there, and what seems like a small change can have a huge impact every day and therefore we continue. It is not easy and it is a long journey driven by passionate colleagues. But as a large company it is our responsibility to support and be part of driving change towards a more inclusive society. In Copenhagen we can celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community, but this is by far not a global right. It is heartbreaking hearing and reading of the inequality in gender and sexual orientation which are still prevailing. And therefore our daily actions, raising the LGBTQIA+ flag and the celebration of pride are as important as ever. #pride2023 #equality #diversityandinclusion #drivingchangetogether #novonordisk

Kiona Technologies founder Nathan D Brown had this to say about the US Commerce Department's LGBT trade mission to Mexico City “A lot of the battle really starts with our allies. It starts with people who can open doors so that we can step through. It is not like we are being given something... It is just an opportunity for us to fight for that work we want.” Check out the rest of the article here: https://lnkd.in/gw3G_miY

Creative Director & Strategic Specialist disrupting with innovative & inclusive solutions across arts, heritage, media & tech.
It's the end of International Women's Month and I ended it (feeling) full of rich conversations, mainly with a range of women in different locations, organisations and states of social, political and environmental awareness. We reflected on the state of our microcosmic spaces and how this spring may need a little more of our Mother Nature allyship to help amplify the voices of inspiration and inclusion. I acknowledge YOUR good trouble, an action chosen by you, probably in January or February, to be an active ally. So, I acknowledge and raise the stakes just a tiny bit 'cos there are a bunch of women in the East Midlands who are producing and collaborating on culturally specific and significant work centring the voices of those who have been erased or hidden across the UK? Coming up this month is 'Shakti', a festival produced by Inspirate UK in Leicester to enable the first South Asian Queer Festival to take place in Croydon. Swim Aunty, Swim by Siana B. is in rehearsals at BELGRADE THEATRE TRUST (COVENTRY) LIMITED for the upcoming staging in May. Let's Dance International Frontiers 2024 takes place from the end of April #serendipityinstituteuk as directed by Pawlet Brookes, MBE. Three Muslim teens feature in Liberation Squares the #fifthwordtheatre and #nottinghamplayhouse co-production. I acknowledge that all of these are international stories told regionally, told with intention, representing our human intersections. The essence of these stories are bubbly, rosy or flaking blossoms into the spring. What conversations will you schedule for this coming quarter - for spring? A little more mindful meditations, perhaps? Or leading on a strategy that has roots in what you were aiming to achieve later this year? I plan on gathering support from those inspiring international women that I may have glossed over due to one or more of their protected characteristics #inspireinclusion.

Since 1967, Axel Springer has been guided by a set of core values that have helped shape the company's social responsibility throughout decades of social, political, and technological change. One of our "Essentials" stands out today, on International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia: "We reject political and religious extremism and all forms of racism and sexual discrimination." International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia commemorates the World Health Organization's decision to remove homosexuality from its list of mental disorders on May 17, 1990. 34 years later, more than one-third of countries around the world still criminalize consensual same-sex acts between adults. 26 countries impose prison sentences of 10 years or more for same-sex sexual acts, and 11 countries even impose the death penalty. We’ve also seen anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric increase in some of the world’s largest democracies, including Poland, Hungary, India, South Korea, and the United States. As an openly gay man, I am proud to work for a company that supports and empowers me and many other LGBTQ+ colleagues to come to work as ourselves. Axel Springer not only stands up against discrimination on this day or during Pride Month but has done so throughout its 77-year history.
Today, we observe International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). This day is not just a call to action against discrimination and violence. It's a reminder of the importance of inclusivity, diversity, and respect in society and the workplace. At Axel Springer, we are dedicated to nurturing an environment that not only embraces diversity but also promotes a culture in which everyone feels safe, appreciated, and free to express their true selves. Our commitment to this principle is integral to our 'culture of cultures' and is anchored in our values, with freedom at their core. Together with colleagues from Berlin, Axel Springer Queerseite, our LGBTQIA+ umbrella network, which has been advocating for the interests and aspirations of the community since 2014, raised the progress pride flag in front of our headquarters. 🌈 Let’s work together to cultivate a world where diversity is celebrated, and equity is the norm, not the exception. 🏳️🌈 Thank you to everyone who makes a difference by celebrating diversity and rejecting discrimination! ___ Gabriel Brotman Niklaus Dadioucoumé Nastasia Pawlak Gerrit Wilcke Melina Bednarek David Imberman Uli Schmitz Nico Nölken Carla Sperzel Rebecca Wilker Vincent T.
