One of many #WorldEnvironmentDay highlights was the premiere of a song called “That’s What Earth Said” at UNEP’s headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, featuring Indigenous Maasai performers. The song is a call to action for #GenerationRestoration, an initiative which aims to prevent, halt, and reverse the degradation of ecosystems on every continent and across the oceans. Indeed, that's what Earth is SAYING for so many years (!!) but most people and governments were blind and deaf!! WE, THE #GENERATION_RESTORATION, WE ALL NEED TO STAND UP in order to AVOID reaching the...past tense of this song title! Because if we reach the moment when the syntagm "Earth SAYS" will be replaced by "Earth SAID" it will be...TOO LATE!!!

If nature's default setting was growth, development and progress, Earth would have grown in size too. Yet, over the last 4.6 billion years, it hasn't. Its principles haven't changed over billions of years, and so human thinking shouldn't change every twenty years. Discovering such timeless principles that govern the universal consciousness is perhaps the purpose of our curiosity. Once discovered, the purpose of life then becomes to keep one's own consciousness aligned with universal consciousness.

Restoring the planet's ecosystem through the oceans is crucial, as the oceans play a key role in regulating the climate, providing food and maintaining biodiversity. Restoring ocean ecosystems is a multidisciplinary effort that requires the collaboration of governments, NGOs, scientists, local communities and the private sector. The combined actions of protection, restoration, pollution reduction and sustainable fishing can help reverse the decline in ocean health, ensuring that they continue to support life on the planet. Together we are stronger!
