The #ClimateCrisis weighs most heavily on the vulnerable, including people with low incomes, women, and Indigenous peoples. Unless humanity reverses course on the environmental havoc it is causing, it will be impossible to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. From 8 to 17 July, United Nations Member States are meeting in New York for the High-Level Political Forum which looks at the latest progress on multiple goals, including the 5 featured here. Did you know Hope SA Foundation works with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including: 1. SDG 1: No Poverty - Through food hampers and emergency aid. 2. SDG 2: Zero Hunger - By serving over 800,000 hot meals since 2020. 3. SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being - Via the Mobile Healthcare Clinic and healthcare services. 4. SDG 5: Gender Equality- Through programs addressing gender-based violence. 5. SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation - By providing water tanks and clean water access. 6. SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities - Through disaster relief efforts. #keepHopeAlive
Addressing the climate crisis is crucial not only for environmental sustainability but also for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Goals such as zero hunger, good health and well-being, clean water and sanitation, and climate action are interconnected and rely on a stable and healthy environment. Without mitigating climate change, progress towards these goals becomes severely compromised, especially for the most vulnerable communities who are least equipped to cope with its impacts.
