WHAT HAVE WE HERE Just in....... TIER 5 ENGINE WP-150 Still worker available to hire or buy nationwide and worldwide (within reason) Watson and Hillhouse continue to invest in the best, A rolling stone gathers no moss. This state-of-the-art, silent pile press enables piles to be installed and extracted in highly sensitive locations; they are compact in size so are also ideally suited to height restricted sites i.e. in buildings or under bridges and can press piles into most soil types although, depending on stiffness/density, pre-augering or water jetting is sometimes required. After installing the first 4 piles, it travels along the installed piles using the reactionary force to press the next pile in (instead of using a hammering or vibratory action) thus creating very little noise or vibration. It’s called self-travelling as unlike other pile drivers it doesn’t need any other piece of machinery to assist it – apart from a crane that lifts the pile into the chuck of the pile press. Vertical Lifeline and Ladder Systems Each year, countless numbers of workers lose footing while carrying tools and materials up ladders due to the presence of grease, mud, snow, ice and water. Sadly, many of these ladder related accidents are preventable with the use of a vertical lifeline system. A vertical lifeline allows movement up and down the entire height of the line, eliminating the need to disconnect and find a new tie-off points while ascending or descending from a tower or ladder. By connecting to the vertical lifeline using a shuttle or traveler, users may move as long as tension is slack on the lifeline. In the event of a fall, the shuttle automatically engages the vertical lifeline and locks, arresting the fall and potentially saving a life. In addition to providing vertical lifelines, Diversified also manufactures the EZ Fixed Access Ladder System. EZ Series ladders reduce installation times by 50% with adjustable stand-off brackets that eliminate field modification of permanently welded mounting brackets when obstructions interfere with ladder installations.

I recently posted an image and asked “How will you equip the worker to access this location to complete the task at hand? Please explain.” Responses included the use of a mini boom lift and pneumatic tire rolling scaffold. Below is the approach that was actually taken on this project. Any concerns with this approach? #prevention #falls #construction

A confined space also has limited or restricted means for entry or exit and is not designed for continuous occupancy. Confined spaces include, but are not limited to, tanks, vessels, silos, storage bins, hoppers, vaults, pits, manholes, tunnels, equipment housings, ductwork, and pipelines.
