We are so excited about the new 'UK Grantmaking' launch this week, set up by 360Giving, in collaboration with Association of Charitable Foundations, ACO - The Association of Charitable Organisations, London Funders, CCLA Investment Management and Pears Foundation and UK Community Foundations. UK Grantmaking will be the 'definitive annual publication on grant funding in the UK. 360Giving explains that the new initiative will "consider trends, as well as provide a platform of base data that could then be used to “deep dive” into specific areas." On Tuesday, 360Giving and our partners launched our exciting new platform, UKGrantmaking.org https://lnkd.in/emrPH3tf Today, with ACO - The Association of Charitable Organisations, we share highlights about grants to individuals and families made by UK grantmakers including professional associations, benevolent funds, charities and local authorities. Organisations that provide grants to individuals often fly under the radar in terms of public awareness and yet play a vital role in providing critical support to individuals and families in financial hardship exacerbated by the current cost-of-living crisis. ⬇ 1. There are around 2,000 grantmakers in the UK that make grants to individuals and families 2. The majority being very small – over 500 of them distributing under £5,000 a year. 3. It is estimated that the total amount of grants to individuals is approximately £400m a year 4. The 295 largest of these, where data on grants to individuals is available, distributed over £300m. Of these, over half also distributed grants to institutions. 5. The largest 100 funders providing grants to individuals decreased grant spending to individuals by 2% after adjusting for inflation Explore the data at UKGrantmaking.org 🔎 #GrantsToIndividuals #UKGrantmaking

Founder & CEO at Charizone | Informing philanthropic decisions & Encouraging charities to achieve more
📚 In case you missed it, UKGrantmaking.org was launched last week by 360Giving! The platform consolidates and analyses data on funding across all sectors in the UK. It is interactive and accessible, offering valuable insights into grantmaking activities. Key insights: ⭕ Over 13,000 UK grantmakers distributed more than £20bn in grants during 2022-23. ⭕ The majority of grantmakers are small-scale, distributing less than £1m annually. However, 207 grantmakers distributed over £10m. ⭕ Small charities, with incomes under £1m, received the majority of grants. ⭕ Charities registered and operating solely in London received one-third of the amount given to all charities registered in London. This launch marks a significant step for the sector. We fully support the use of data in the sector, and this a great example of how data sharing enables learning, collaboration, and positive changes in funding. Visit UKGrantmaking.org to explore the data more thoroughly 📊 Happy 9th Anniversary to the 360Giving family!

At Carey & Co, we aim to improve outcomes for our clients’ success. So, with that in mind, Carrie Mauer joined the team to spearhead our new division of Human Resources; offering her expertise and insight so that #nonprofits can flourish out of their HR struggles. In the article 'Nonprofits Pivot from Survival to Resilience: BDO 2023 Nonprofit Standards Benchmarking Survey,' BDO reported a compelling reason for why we got into #HR services. “Public charities tackle human resources challenges. Eighty percent of public charities stated that human resources challenges are making it difficult to report on program impacts. To combat this, public charities are deploying numerous strategies and incentives to attract and retain talent, with 28% planning to increase wages and salaries.” Visit https://lnkd.in/e8iqa846 to read how #Careywilldoallthat and schedule your meeting with Carrie! #nonprofit #humanresources #challenges #wages #salary
